Mount Panorama is a must visit in Bathurst even if you aren’t crazy about the Supercars. It’s a nice drive (and a public road with speed cameras so don’t get too carried away) and the views from the top are just beautiful (that’s why they call it Mount Panorama)

Sunday drive material. A gently meandering road through stunning lush green landscapes, and a number of waterfalls you can stop to enjoy or walk. Just outside of Belligen, the road hugs the river before bringing you to 2 roadside waterfalls in Newell and Sherrard. Not a lot of opportunity to stop or safely take those roadside ones in. Dorrigo National Park has a tourist centre with a Skywalk, and well formed tracks to hike to Crystal Falls along the Lyrebird Track

The Long Paddock touring route in south western NSW is the quite road to the north. With history at your fingertips and five rivers to cross, this is a journey you will not forget. From fishing to artwork, bird watching to unique bush events , we have it all Take a different path - take The Long Paddock.
Loved travelling this apparently featureless road. Felt like we were riding across history. Great sculptures. Watch out for emus

Planning a visit to Hunter Valley Wine Country and hoping to take the road less travelled? Why not enjoy a scenic drive on Tourist Drive 33, along the Great North Road or Convict Trail, through the beautiful NSW countryside. Food and wine, adventure activities, nature and wildlife, walking and cycling, festivals and events, history and culture.
While it is faster to take the M1 motorway it is much more enjoyable to take Tourist Drive 33 as its a great drive from Cessnock to the Central Coast. Its an easy drive and you get to enjoy the village of Wollombi on the way.

My wife and I have just completed a return trip from Port Stephens to Hill End and back. We travelled via the Bylong Valley Way in each direction and I have to say this is one of the best kept secrets in the country. After the recent rain we have had, the grass has just exploded into lush Emerald Green growth. The road passes between sandstone escarpments each side of the valley for much of the trip. The road is sealed all the way and aside from a couple of steep hills with very broad hairpin bends, is reasonably flat and a pleasure to drive. We towed a three ton caravan without any difficulty. It's now in our top ten drives in the country. Pete.
