With its rich cultural heritage from Native American and Spanish settlers, New Mexico has been both a Spanish colony and a Mexican colony, and still retains a strong individual identity within the United States. The landscape is breathtaking, the food incredible, and there is a thriving cultural scene, all of which makes New Mexico, and Santa Fe in particular, a great place all year long.

Ranked #1 in New Mexico by Golf Digest and consistently rated a top U.S. course by both Golfweek and Golf Digest, this 27-hole championship golf course is nestled in the scenic Sandia Mountains.
You don't have to be a golfer to enjoy PaaKo Ridge Golf Club. The expansive, multi-level patio has sweeping views of the Sandia Mountains and overlooks the 19th green and lake (the course is 18+9, so holes are actually numbered 1-27). The newly-remodeled, stylish clubhouse is simultaneously relaxed and refined. The staff is attentive and friendly, and Chef David Ruiz ("Chopped," "Guy Fieri's Road Trip," and winner "James Beard Foundation" for his blended burger) creates masterful gourmet dishes featuring fresh ingredients and creative blends. The menu is broad, but does incudes a few selections that give a definite nod to Southwest stylings in some unexpected ways. Hint, take a splurge off your diet and order the Iron Skillet Mac & Cheese side (yes, really). The club's wine selection features a very enjoyable variety including some very high end wines. Indoor seating with the same lovely views is also available, and when the weather cools down, I'm looking forward to dinner here while watching the snow fall. The club is just a lovely and relaxing place to enjoy a meal with friends (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). If you're traveling New Mexico's Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway, this would be a wonderful stop (just 2 minutes off the trail). Highly recommend.

Drove almost two hours to play this muni. course. It was worth the drive. Course is in excellent shape. Fairways and greens in great shape. My friend left a club there. They found it for him after we left. He is shipping to him at no charge back to his home in Texas. The nice person was Chris Jones. That's great customer service!! No wonder this course is rated in the top 10 in the country.

Sandia is a fun course to play with a selection of tees for all skill levels. The course offers few flat lies, and challenges one to hit all types of shots. Green fees include a cart and practice balls.
