The home to Yale University since 1701, the city of New Haven is packed with an unrivaled collection of arts and antiquities, with collections ranging from natural history specimens to antique musical instruments. The towering translucent marble cube of the Beinecke Library contains 600,000 rare volumes, including one of the only surviving Gutenberg Bibles. The Yale University Art Gallery is as famous for its collection as it is for its building, a Modernist masterpiece designed by Louis Kahn.

This theater features Broadway shows.
I just came from the play Amazing Grace and was very impressed with the new Renovations that took place at the Shubert recently. Construction during the off-season allowed for a free flowing entrance into the theater. This is a great place to watch a play or even a concert, very good acoustics and small enough to have a great View

We saw Elle King here on November 3, 2018 and were very impressed with this venue. My husband and I are in our late 50's and attend a lot of concerts. We are always braced for the hassle factor when attending a new venue. College Street Music Hall proved to be one of the easiest places to get to and enjoy a show at that we've attended - and we travelled 2 1/2 hours from Massachusetts and stayed in a hotel about 20 minutes outside of New Haven, so that is saying a lot! Lucky for us, there is a huge parking garage directly across the street, I think we paid $8 to park for the evening, so convenient! The restaurant we booked for dinner, Elm City Social, happened to be right next door, so that was another check in the convenience column. When we entered the theater we were greeted by a food cart selling street tacos. They looked good but we had filled up at Elm City Social. A few steps further in there was a nice full bar. Restrooms were down one flight, clean and very nice. The theater space on the 1st level was ample with loads of hardwood flooring gently stepping down to the stage - it is general admission there. Our seats were up in the loge and we had an amazing view of the stage. The seats are cushy comfy and there is ample leg room. On this level there is also another bar, snack and non-alcoholic drink area and additional bathrooms. The upper level was closed off for this concert. The acoustics were great, Elle King rocked! Afterward we walked around this area of New Haven - very lively on a Saturday night with tons of places to grab a drink and a bite. On our way to the car we waited with a few other fans to see Ellen get on her tour bus which was parked right out in front of the theater. I am going to keep an eye on College Street Music Hall because we'd travel back again with no hesitation to see a show here. It is also an affordable ticket!

Jokers Wild has been providing laughs to Southern Connecticut since 2008. We bring some of the best and brightest names in comedy each and every week. Our comics appear on Letterman, Conan, Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, Sirius/XM radio and tour all over the country. We take great pride in being the only authentic comedy club in Connecticut. We are a free standing comedy club that doesn't operate in a mall, casino or the back of a bar. Jokers Wild features a full bar, outdoor patio and an immaculate kitchen and we make it all happen on historic Wooster Street in New Haven.
