A stunning very well maintained church in the old town that one needs to visit. You also get beautiful views looking down over the town. Due to Covid and the number of groups we didn’t go inside but I’m sure would be worth a visit.

The Jardin Botanique de Neuchatel offers a wide variety of plant life from several different regions, including the local species. The plants and trees are carefully labeled as is the garden itself. There is an indoor terrarium that offers a wide variety of plantlife as well. there is also a cafe on site.

Really beautiful lake promenade in the center of Neuchatel, it is possible to sit on concrete or also in the pebbles of the pebbles beach. Directly access to the water from the center so you can swim! But limited space. Visited in winter, a sunny and warm day and everyone was sitting outside enjoying the sun, it was an awesome feeling. Amazing sunset too.

For me the ride in the funicular up to Chaumont is just part of visiting Neuchatel, it's essential and something I've done since being a small child! It never disappoints. The funicular is reached easily by bus (no 107) from the town centre. It's 4.20 CH francs each way and takes about 10 minutes to ascend and descend and the views, in both directions, are lovely. Once at the top, there's a small restaurant and various walks. You can also drive up to Chaumont. The view is fabulous and particularly if you go up the viewing tower. It's one CF franc per person and there's a change machine in the funicular station. The view from the top of lake Neuchatel and the alps is so worth the few steps up the tower as it takes you right above the trees. Even on a foggy day, when we couldn't see across the lake in Neuchatel, once in Chaumont and above the clouds, you see the whole Alps range including Mont Blanc to the right and the Matterhorn and the Eiger to the left. It's beautiful and spectacular.

12th Century Castle.
A lovely walk through the town up the hill to this chateau was worth it. Beautiful views from high up. We didn’t go in due to COVID and there were also lots of tour groups. Definitely worth a visit.

Neuchatel is a wonderful city especially the center of the Old Town with the fountain and iconic watch tower. The architecture reminded me a lot of Italy, Malta. I love the yellow tones. I am glad I chose to visit this city. The center was empty because it was a Sunday, everyone was by the lake.
