We had a great time there, but for the modest among you, there is still plenty of nakedness. A few unusual rules: - kids 12 and under are not allowed. They have to be in Junior high (13 or older) - tattoos are not allowed. You will not be allowed to enter if you have any kind of tattoos. If it is small, you may get away with putting a band aid over it... - from the locker room (no changing rooms) you can walk to the co-ed area in your bathing suit. - you must shower before getting in any bath - once you're done with the co-ed area and want to go to the restaurant or whatever, you cannot enter the locker room wearing your suit. You must take it off and dry yourself as much as possible before entering the locker room - there is a bedrock bath (I explain it as Japanese way of doing sauna). If you want to go there you have to sign up, get additional clothing, pay 700 yen, and you'll get assigned a specific time frame (you'll get 50 min) - not following the behavioral rules will get you kicked out asap A few other things I wish I had known ahead of time: - the separated area had 2 pools inside and one outside pool with a beautiful garden - there was also a steam room and sauna in the separated area and a cold dip pool, along with a resting area - the bedrock bath is laying on a hot stone ("bed") in a hot room 53'C, about 130'F, on a towel that's provided and in comfortable clothing to sweat in which are also provided. There are different rock surfaces which are supposed to have different properties but I couldn't understand it. There is also a very hot room at 72'C, to sweat in. There is a cool off room (I don't know what temp). If it's cold enough outside, you can borrow slippers and go into the garden. - the relaxation room is large and dark, and they have large towels for blankets. But you cannot go in there in your sweaty bedrock bath clothes - the wrist band that you get with your locker key has a bar code. With that you can charge everything to your account (food, massage, bedrock bath, etc) and pay at checkout, so you don't need to carry cash or card with you while in the bath - there is a co-ed sauna, steam room and hot tub, but I thought the separate were much nicer We were there on a Sunday afternoon and stayed until late. It was very easy to spend time and money there but it was well worth it. At 6 pm the cost of entry goes to half, and that's when a lot of people showed up. But it never felt crowded. I can highly recommend it. Just as with many Japanese things, there are very specific rules and you must comply.
