You have to walk through cemented and iron stairs and its very steep, 300 steps. Then afterwards, a very light rocky path. After a 30-45 mins you'll see this beauty. Splashing cold water. Majestic ! Entrance : P10.00 You have to hire a habal (motorcycle ) to come here. In our case we hired habal to tour us around. Rony- Dumaguete Tour 09654850817 Kindly take note to ask discount, in our case 2 pax we priced at first for P2,500.00 and ended P2k. So basically 1k each.

Apo Island Marine Reserve

Reviewed By Kelsydney

This was my 3rd and 4th trip to Apo Island, and it didn't let me or my fellow divers down. The diving as it has been before was just fantastic. The coral was even better than I remember, the huge school of Jacks following us on one of the dive was only bettered by the sea snakes that were hunting and were not worried about the 6 divers in the water. When you go there take some local money because when the local ladies come out to sell you shirts and wrap arounds you will kick yourself if you miss out. Just a great place to dive, and proves that when a marine reserve is in place it works.

Danjugan Island Marine Reserve and Sanctuaries

"We saved an island, now we invite you to explore it." Danjugan Island is a marine reserve and wildlife sanctuary, 3 kilometers off the coast of Bulata, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Philippines. The island is 1.5 kilometers long and 0.5 kilometers at its widest point, has 5 lagoons and is covered with limestone forests providing asylum to many wildlife species that struggle to exist in the mainland. What once used to be a threatened and over-fished area is now a protected sanctuary with a dazzling array of marine and terrestrial life. Today, the island serves as an outdoor classroom for students, a research area for conservationists, and a haven for tourists eager to experience nature at its purest. Danjugan Island is a project of The Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation, Inc. Danjugan's five lagoons, numerous coral reefs, and vast limestone forests provide asylum to many wildlife species.

Our stay was a mixture of rain and sun but it was still nice. The island is really lovely and very interesting. It is relaxing but don't expect any luxury. A day trip or an overnight stay is not enough to really enjoy the island. We stayed at the open huts. Not bad but be aware that as it is open, there could be lizards or geckos roaming around. The roof also got some holes hence we needed to move our matress to protect it from the rain. I told it to the management hence I hope they could do some repair. The food served are really good and a lot and the staff are friendly too. There are a lot to do and explore on the island. It may not be good for first timers though. The guides may need more training on English so as to better explain more about the island to foreigner quests. I also told the guide that I am not a good swimmer and may panic in the open water but I guess he did not take it seriously. I still enjoy the stay though. I really liked the typhoon beach and sunset deck though. The bamboo hut of the other side is a hidden gem! Quiet, relaxing and got a network signal.
