At Silver Fork's Tasting Room, we will provide tasting flights of our wine that will also include a souvenir glass. With each sip, guests can learn about the terroir 'taste of the place', the varietal and wine making notes. Surrounded by beautiful views of our vineyard and the South Mountains. Come stay, enjoy and relax.
Enjoyed a tasting of their bordeaux style wines, then sipped a glass of dry Spanish-style rose' on their patio overlooking the vineyards. All their varietals were very drinkable & the venue was perfect for a summer afternoon. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is a beautiful lake! Gorgeous surroundings and really nice fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, camping, but very limited swimming. Really limited! It is a shame in my opinion. They have so much to offer with what should be lovely swimming areas but they have designated a small beach area with a small place to swim for tons of people. My family was very disappointed. We did have a great picnic and hike. Very fun, but we probably won't go back here. We love to swim.

Cozy, friendly warmth are found at Belle Nicho. In their small tasting room we enjoyed sampling the wines while chatting with the owner. It was interesting hearing how becoming a winemaker came about. They have six wines from a Chambourein to the Sweet Dog Red- a wine great with chocolate. For my palate the favorite was the Seyval Blane a dry white wine. Definitely glad we visited this friendly winery.

The John Rock loop trail start from the fish hatchery and accends to the top of a granite escarpment hundreds of feet above the valley floor for an incredible view of the surrounding area. The trail itself is really interesting in that it takes you through several botanical "zones", with varying vegetation in each. Make sure you bring plenty to drink, and a picnic for the top of the mountain. The total trail is about six miles, so give yourself plenty of time.

This was an interesting place to visit to learn about local history...and surprisingly, the influence of the families who lived here on history outside of the local region.
In addition to the interesting aspects of the construction of the house itself, our guide added a great deal to the store by sharing stories about family members and local citizens as well as historic sites and events nearby. The special exhibit room focused on the human aspect of the people who lived on this working plantation and it was well done and quite interesting. Worth every bit of the $7 admission fee!

We went to LuckyStrike for 3 nights. If you want information, you need to read the walls and counter at the Miner Diner / Office / Ice Cream Stand / bulletin board. Everything there is run from the single ice cream shop-like window.
One gentleman there was very nice, and would answer any question you asked. He and his little Chihuahua were the friendliest people there. Everyone else kinda just kept to themselves.
We ran the highbanker operation - to 1 1/2 days to run one load because of the huge number of rocks in the pile that was given to us. you need a 1 1/2" connection to run their water (or fittings to make it work). There are NO trees in the highbanker area, so you'd better have a canopy. It was ok, but it was a lot of work.
We stayed with friends in the cabin. It says it sleeps 4. Only if two of them are children under 6, maybe. There is a bedroom, but the others are relegated to a pull-out loveseat, and a recliner, neither of which are comfortable.
We wanted to take some paydirt home, but the only ones available were $100 because they can't get bags. Their gift shop is small, and had maybe 3 t-shirts in it.
It's an ok place, but definitely wish I'd stayed at that place 2 miles farther down the road.
There are NO amenities for children - no playground, pond, pool, etc. They can mine, or maybe play in the river.

First time experience with this type of adventure with our kids. We will definitely be back. Very easy to find, very friendly staff and service. Equipment looks very well taken care of. Great price for a great experience. We did tandem kayaks with two kids ages 11 & 9 who aren't strong swimmers. We also had to bring our 20 lb dog because he's disabled. We capsized only once and managed to not lose anyone or any paddles. One simple-looking twist in the river the is sharper than it looks and you come out trying to turn sharp left and you end up sideways into a log and the current flips you. Luckily my phone was in a plastic bag and I still don't know why it didn't get soaked but in the future I will have a better case or waterproof camera.
Plenty of places along the way to stop and swim if you like. We even went past our campground.
Can't say enough nice things about all of it.

Refinery 13 is the first taproom in our small town, and features beer and wine from local breweries and wineries. There is a $1 membership fee to join. They do offer some light snacks like locally made cheese curds and hummus. The decor is so beautiful, with a lot of emphasis on comfort, and the staff (all family) is very accommodating. You feel like a member of the family here. Refinery 13 is a welcome addition here, we are excited to have a local place for enjoying local beer and wine.
