This plan is recommended for those who have too much time left for returning flights or connecting flights, or for those who have just arrived in Japan. The area around Narita Airport has a peaceful rural landscape, but there are many attractive tourist spots. At the Aeronautical Science Museum, you can not only learn about the mechanism of airplanes, but also enjoy the world's largest model operation experience. Mt. Narita, which you will visit in the second half of the tour, is a popular spot with a history of over 1000 years. The gorgeous Buddhist architecture of Mt. Narita Shinshoji Temple, visited by 10 million people every year, is worth to visit. Let's enjoy a little time.

Historic boat rides and world famous festival floats in Little Edo. Sawara, an area in Chiba, is little known, even to the Japanese. It offers beautiful townscapes of buildings of over 100 years old and the atmosphere of Japan from 200 years ago. Its local festival, the Grand Festival of Sawara, is inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List. Enjoy a quiet boat ride down Ono River that runs through the city center and stroll around the old town of Little Edo that will make you feel as if you have slipped back in time to the Edo period (1603-1868). With great access from the airport, this tour is highly recommended if you are flying into or out of Narita Airport! If you are in the area, Sawara is truly worth a visit.

Narita airport has lots of international flights, so you might use the airport. But Narita is a bit far from center of Tokyo. If you have hours for transit or layover, how about strolling around Narita and explore local Japan? At Narita, there is a big Naritasan Shinshoji temple which has over 1,000 years history. In front of that temple, there is 800m long street called Omotesando. Let's walk and find Japanese local culture and food! (It's private tour, so we could change your itinerary based on your request.)
Inclusions: Professional and friendly guide

My husband and 2 sons (ages 11 and 13) loved our virtual tour of Tokyo. Nino was a fantastic guide and filled the hour with historical, cultural and fun facts! She was able to keep all of us at all ages engaged. It was a welcome diversion for this time of no-travel and very few experiences in the world because of the pandemic. We all can't wait to book our trip when the time allows!
Rowboats, shrines, festivals and sake breweries! Sawara, a 30 minute train ride away from Narita Airport, is a city in which you can enjoy beautiful historical townscapes of the Edo Period (1603-1868). There is an Important Traditional Building Group Conservation Area in the center of town, and you can row down the river to get a great view of it. In Sawara there is also the house of the man who made the first map of Japan, a traditional festival recognised by UNESCO and the head shrine of several hundred Katori Shrines in Japan. As there is a lot to cover on this tour, you will use bicycles as a means of transportation. If you are flying into or out from Narita Airport, we recommend this tour!

Yoshi was a great tour guide. He tells a lot of stories and takes you to your desired places and then some. We went to the National Gardens, stopped to say hi to Hachiko, and went to the Chiku Chiku Cafe. The Hedgehogs were so cute! They're usually nocturnal and the one I was visiting, Butter, was really tired and wanted to sleep so I only took a couple pictures and let him rest the rest of the time :) Take care Yoshi! Hope you have more fun adventures
A day out in Narita experiencing traditional Japanese culture Shakyo, The Sutra Tracing, is performed as a means of mindfulness training. Whether one has faith in Buddhism or not, tracing sacred scripts gives us time to reflect on ourselves and practice mindfulness. On this tour you will visit a quiet temple where you can have a go at tracing the sutras with a Japanese brush and ink. Shinshoji Temple, only ten minutes away from Narita Airport, holds a vast amount of land where great historic buildings stand, and in its surrounding area there is a beautiful garden and a literature museum. The omotesando street that leads to the temple is also famous for its delicious cuisine. If you are flying into or out of Narita Airport, this tour is worth booking!
