Not many art works at this museum but the building/environment is an integral part of the experience. The best is this white room where 5 Monet paintings are displayed; you put on slippers to enter. Online ticketing system restrict number of people. Was there low season (December) so didn't need to book but show up and buy a ticket. Took me under 1 hour to enjoy the three exhibits, enjoy the architecture and have a drink at the cafe.

This is the place that really exceed my expectation. The museum has nicely integrated into its environment, overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. It has various exhibits to draw your attention too. My favorite is the Yellow and Black Boats. The museum offers an extended viewing time for Benesse House hotel guests. Afterwards, remember to venture out to see the outdoor exhibits nearby the museum by the sea.

Tadao Ando’s architecture and the setting of the museum provide a perfect context to enjoy Lee Ufan’s sculptures and art work. This a museum for contemplation - with beautifully conceived and deceptively restrained artworks. If you want a large quantity of art with immediate impact then Lee Ufan’s minimalism may not be for you. If you are prepared to be challenged and take the time to appreciate why Lee Ufan and Tadao Ando are internationally renowned then there is much to be discovered.

This museum is like a showroom to publish some of Ando's work on Naoshima and also in other part of Japan. The museum itself is converted from an ordinary old house on the island. It looks so "normal" from the outside, but there lots of surprise when you step in, because Ando turns it into an intersting space, like a maze. Amazing natural lighting in the museum, it is beautiful indeed.
Naoshima, where art lovers from all around the world visits, has a new art gallery. Young artists and creators show their works and products in this gallery venue. The building is a typical Japanese house. You can have a look at works as you make a living. Have a short break while walking around art projects around.
