OK Corral Khao Yai

Reviewed By kevinhall111 - Bangkok, Thailand

We brought our 8 year old girl to OK for 1.5 hour lesson. She had never rode before. Little did we know what a treat this turned out to be. Trainer Khun Joe is truly amazing - the way he explained how to handle horses, what to do and what not to do. My daughter felt safe and confident under his guidance and within an hour she was riding a trotting horse with ease. Very impressive. My wife and I can't say enough on how wonderful Khun Joe is as a riding instructor. (He is Thai but fluent in English). The added bonus is the ranch itself and the excellent trails attached. The only problem is that all my daughter wants to talk about now is going back to OK Corral.

Phimai Historical Park

This 12th-century temple is similar in structure to Angkor Wat.

Not as big as Ayutthaya or Sukhotai, but well worth a visit. The temple is just stunning! Phimai was an outpost of the Khmer empire and that is why the temple was built in Khmer architecture. Also, I learned there that Angkor Wat was inspired by this temple in Phimai! How very cool! Recommend visiting at any time, especially in the late afternoon as there are fewer tourists. Also, worth stopping and having a walk around Phimai, it is rather cute itself.

Alcidini Winery

I visited the winery with my fiancé to look for wines for our wedding next year. The winery is run by a mother, father and son trio, who have all spent time in Australia and/or America studying oenology. We were greeted by the mother before we even got to the front door! The wine tasting on offer was more than reasonable at 100 baht per person and the process and story of making each wine was explained in great detail. They even offer their wines with your own customised labels for occasions such as weddings and have plenty of examples on display. I'm really glad we made the trip out to Alcidini and would recommend to all.

If golf is on your agenda, you're in for a treat. The course was in excellent condition and had the right amount of difficult and easy holes.

I’ve come here once a year for more than 15 years. We dropped by to have lunch and buy some wines and home made stuff. I love their white wine particularly Busaba and Sakuna. The red wine such as Asoke is also good but the price is now too high. My wife and I also love their grape juice. I dare say that you cannot buy such high quality grape juice from anywhere else.

Just try to imagine a banyan tree, only one, 350 years old, a little more than 3 200 m2 (35 000 square feet) under which you can walk at a cool temperature.... quite an incredible tree, with squirrels, dragons flies, a small temple.... Really nice and quiet place. A few kilometers after the museum. Beware of your head, I still feel a little pain after I hit a low tree branch!
