Established in the Himalaya foothills by a British Army officer in 1820, the "Queen of the Hills" stands above the rest with its deep woods, favorable climate and Doon Valley views. Its name is derived from the berry-covered Mansur shrub found in abundance around this trekker-friendly area. Vestiges of its colonial past are still reflected in the cuisine and architecture. For stunning natural sights, head to Gun Hill or Childer's Lodge, the two highest peaks, or the famous Kempty waterfall.

Lovely 3.5 km walk with a view of the majestic himalayas. On a nice clear day the snow clad mountains look breathtaking. Just a great walk. Better done in the morning

The Mall is major attraction in Mussoorie. Almost every visitor of Mussoorie walks on the beautiful and happening Mall Road which stretches almost 2km from Kulri Bazar, Picture Palace at east side to the Gandhi Statue , Library at the west side. The height of the Mall Road is around 2000m. Vehicles are not allowed on The Mall from 4:30pm to 10:30pm. We paid 150/- to enter after 10:30pm. Everything is there what you expect on The Mall of a hill station. Restaurants, Coffee shops, Fast food counters; readymade garments, woollens, jackets, handlooms; wood articles & utility items, showpieces, toys, electronics, modern buys; games, video parlours, Hotels, Resorts, religious worship places - whatever you think of is available on The Mall. Road side vendors selling pop corns, local fruits are also there. One can spend hours here without tiring. Views of Dehradoon in day time and in night with illuminating lights are amazing. All hills are with green covers of trees. Do not forget to take warm cloths as cool breeze always there to hurt to in shadows. Kadhai Milk in Kulladh (clay glass) at Mussoorie Sweet Shop near Picture Palace is a must have drink.

We were two women travellers who trekked to Cloud's End and totally enjoyed the long walk. Cloud's End is a private property and one can get in by buying a ticket which is Rs 50/- per head. It has an echo point and another point that offers a nice view of the hills and the valleys. Even the walk through the jungle upto Cloud's End from Seegreen Cafe is enjoyable. Though one can go up there in a car, I would recommend trekking.

Mussoorie is not what it used to be. It's imitating Shimla by becoming overdeveloped, crowded, noisy, and dirty. Instead go directly up to Landour, have a pancake at Char Dukan, take the lovely walk to Lal Tibba (the place where on a clear day you can see the snowcapped Himalayas in the distance), then walk back to old St. Paul's church, and go into the church to experience real quiet. Then go on a bit further to the restored Victorian villa, Rokeby Manor, go up to the second floor restaurant, and sit out in the covered porch, admire the magnificent trees and see if you can see a fabulous yellow-billed blue magpie, as you sip your chai. This is the way Mussoorie used to be. 8

#LATEPOST PLEASE DON'T VENTURE OUT UNTILL & UNLESS IT'S REQUIRED - TRY TO STAY INDOORS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE & KEEP YOURSELF & EVERYONE AROUND YOU #SAFE ???? Kempty Falls is one of the popular go to destinations for any tourist or traveller visiting #Mussoorie and hence, this one was on our list too when we were at Mussoorie during our one month long self drive vacation across #Uttarakhand in #Feb2020.. Ofcourse, if you have to experience the falls at it's very best - the peak tourist season is the right time to drop in - April to June - one can take a bath or even swim in those falls - adequate changing rooms are available on all levels.. The water flow was obviously pretty less when we visited which actually instigated the travel blogger inside me to try and find the source of the falls - it was an uphill trek for about 3 kms but absolutely worth the effort when I saw that beautiful turquoise green water at the source.. ???? My humble two cents: #MUSTVISIT #Travelstories #LifeofaTravelBlogger #ShotonOneplus7Pro #MussoorieDiaries Journey of an Epicurean Cine Trotter continues.. ???? Company Garden is almost 3 -4 km from Mall Road. It is also known as "Municipal Garden" or "Company Bagh". It is a well-maintained garden with a variety of colourful flowers, an artificial waterfall, fountains, different rides for kids, a wax museum and many more to enjoy. You can enjoy a variety of things there. I visited this place with my family. My daughter enjoyed it very much, especially rides, games offered at a shop and the wax museum while giving different poses. You can enjoy boating as well there. A game shop owner offers you a telescope to see three distant places with nominal charges that can be fun for kids. If you love taking photos, yes this is the place for you.
