Just 40 kilometers away from the Mediterranean beaches, Murcia extends along the valley of the Segura River. From the same river, Murcia Orchard is born, a unique farming place in Europe due to its Roman and Islamic origins and structure and organization. From Murcia center, you will cycle to the dense net of irrigation canals and channels until you get to Contraparada, the place where all channels that water the orchard are born. Walk to this reservoir over Segura River, whose origin is Roman, which will serve in understanding its working and evolution. The way back to Murcia will be a chance to peacefully walk by the quiet 'carriles,' small local roads that plough through the orchard, among bitter oranges, lemon trees and vegetables. Without losing sight of the tower of Murcia Cathedral, the cycle lane by the river will take you to the Plaza de Las Flores Square or the Parque de La Polvora, where you will taste a typical meal based on tapas and a cold drink.

Inclusions: Bike rental, 1 tapa + 1 drink, Accident and assistance insurance

I had a real excellent (friendly, helpful, cooperative and unforgettable) experience when I went for my first Bike rent in Murcia. The people in the shop were absolutely capable and gave me trust and a great expectation about the Racebike i wanted to rent for 1 day. The service was excellent and the fare was reasonable. And also the bring and pick-up service in time. The material bike was well trimmed and prepared so from me they receive the rating "Excellent"!!

The meeting place was easy to find and Ana was a few minutes early. She whisked us away in her comfortable minivan for a day comparing and contrasting Cartagena and Murcia.Ana is warm and knowledgeable and packed a lot into our day. Best might have been the interpretive centre for the ruins of Cartagena and the walk through the pedestrian part of Murcia. Ana's English is clean and rich; she lived awhile in York in the UK. I was in a wheelchair rehabbing a broken leg, and it was obvious that Ana knew how to adapt the tour for people with mobility issues. She made sure the places she chose wer accessible and it was one of our best shore excursions on the whole cruise. Highly recommended.
