What to do and see in Munich, Bavaria: The Best Cooking Classes

June 17, 2021 Karren Gelb

Munich exudes Bavarian charm. Beer fanatics should head immediately to the Hofbräuhaus, a hops heaven that’s been churning out the good stuff since 1589. The drinking is downright legendary during Oktoberfest, a celebration of local beers and German specialty foods. Emulate world-class athletes at the Olympiapark, where skating on the Olympic ice rink will make you feel like a champion. The promenade of Marienplatz is perfect for people watching and gawking at the Glockenspiele of City Hall.

Create special memories in Munich and bring some skills back home to your family and friends! Learn how to make a real Bavarian Munich Pretzel from a real Bavarian ex-chef!

Reviewed By emw831 - Philadelphia, United States

This was a gift to my wife and I from our children - something special to experience during a visit to Munich. We had a wonderful day with Robinson. He was very cordial and welcoming, and a knowledgeable pretzel-maker and teacher. The kitchen/classroom was spotless and all workstations supplied with ingredients. It was great fun to make the dough, learn pretzel history while it rises, and then learn how to roll and shape several styles of pretzels (including braids and a cinnamon croissant style pretzel!). Once the pretzels were done in the oven, Robinson served Munich white sausages with drinks and we got to enjoy the pretzels we made together over lunch. We received our “diplomas” and a copy of the recipe - and a take home bag of our creations (which were equally as good with dinner later and breakfast the next day!) When you are in Munich this is a great way to spend a day and experience a piece of Bavarian culture. Thanks for a very enjoyable day.
