About eight miles north west of Morpeth. A delightful private garden with the National collection of Centauria. Pleasant staff and a good nursery with some unusual plants for sale as well as their own Honey. Honesty tea and coffee and cake in a barn. Well worth a visit. We loved it.

A great place to go at any time of year. As well as an interesting house there is extensive woodland, excellent river walks, beautiful formal gardens plus you can watch wildlife (often including red squirrels) from a comfortable hide.

Great place to walk with lots wildlife and birds to see.The lake has a nature reserve area and different routes to take, some lead in and around the lake and others lead to sand dunes and the beach.Lots of parking which is free through winter. There is a large building with a cafe, toilets and tourist information area(closed at moment for refurbishment). There is a kids play park at the side of this building and through the summer season, there is canoes, surfing hire etc.The beach is flat, great sand and clean. All areas are dog friendly but some areas dogs have to be on leads
