You can swim and also do a little track walk from Mills beach to the Shire Hall beach. There're a few lookout points on the track so you can view the 2 beaches from different angles. A nice protected beach close to Arthur's Seat, so if you can definitely go up the hill in the morning then come down to the beach in the afternoon.

If you are planning to go to this beach it is not for swimmers but for fossil collectors. The fossils collectex in the cliffs consist of gastropods, brachiopods, Bivalves, corals, shark teeth and fish bones. Many of the fossils I have collected from this site were in excellent condition. Fossil beach is an amazing place and I would definetly reccomend it to anyone who likes rocks or nature. Please do not cancel your visit to this beach because of the stupid reviews others have put on this website. They obviously did no research before going there and overlooked the geological significance it has.
