My wife and I were the only visitors to the oil rig museum on a Wednesday morning in February 2020, and it was our good fortune to be guided by the museum curator, Bryce Merrill, a semi-retired diver and rig worker whose artifact collection created the museum. Tours are at 10am and 2pm only, and the museum apparently is open only in conjunction with the tours. Our trip on to the rig lasted an hour and more, with Bryce ready to answer any questions. this is one of the best tours of this type we have ever taken.

My time at Mr Charlie was quite an experience, thanks to the Curator Bryce. The weather was tough, it was gloomy, maybe not an ideal day to tour an old oil rig. Thanks to our informative, knowledgeable, and experienced guide, it turned the day into an unforgettable tour, imbuing us with boatloads of knowledge, and upon leaving, we were so immersed I almost felt like I spend some time living on the old oil drilling rig. I would recommend to ANYONE of any age, especially being casual and non committal. Austin DeLoach, Age 30 SoCal

Just off of Hwy 70 between Lake Palourde and the highway. Tranquil walking trail with a memorial to Morgan City's long time Mayor, "Doc" Brownell as well as the seemingly out of place carillon tower. Great place to spot a bald eagle, coons, etc.

Lake End Park

We camped with our group of 11 Class A coaches. The sites are gravel, with adequate spacing for our rig and toad. Sites are not perfectly level so be prepared. There is a fire ring, picnic table, large pavilion and spacious enclosed area which we used for our evening buffet. Lots of trees. You can fish, bring your boat, and enjoy the wildlife.
