September 15, 2021 Harland Bartelt

Getting sick on vacation is a major drag, but if you have to be under the weather, Montpellier is an ideal place to do it. People have studied medicine here for centuries—the Moors established medical schools in the 9th century, and the Université Montpellier’s school of medicine was founded in 1220. Once the local docs give you a clean bill of health, explore the cathedral, mansions and opera house.

Hello, I’m Bertrand Bosc. I’m a guide in the Pic-Saint-Loup area, near Montpellier. Together, we will explore the terroir, the wine, and the gastronomy of course, but also the less noticeable details, the little things that make this place so special to me. I also design, produce and host custom events in domains around Montpellier.

Musee Fabre

Reviewed By Lefourragere

The musee Fabre is a fantastic destination in Montpellier, we paid 10 euros and saw the Picasso exhibition which was well presented and certainly showed his sense of humour, the ticket gives entry to the permanent collection which starts off with some exhibits on art restoration then the gallery unfolds over many floors with room after room of wonderful paintings, - I think the ticket allows you to go back as you might need to explore in stages, entry to the maison sebattiere is included, and whilst attractive is relatively small and won't take long! It shouldn't be a surprise to find something of the quality of the Fabre in Montpellier, there should just be more like it!

Le Pavillon Populaire

Reviewed By 263patrycjam

It is easy to find pavillon as the building is very characteristic and located near a highly attended Place de la comedie. We have seen two exhibitions, one presenting photos from ghettos and the other one presenting propaganda photos of Hitler, taken by his faithful, personal photographer. Both were interesting and moving, for me particularly as I am from Poland, where the majority of the photographed ghettos were located. Short but informative descriptions help to understand the photos but do not dominate them. A great supplement to the history lessons. A bit too heavy topic for summertime and holidays, so the exhibition was not crowded. But well organized and worth seeing for sure.
