Getting sick on vacation is a major drag, but if you have to be under the weather, Montpellier is an ideal place to do it. People have studied medicine here for centuries—the Moors established medical schools in the 9th century, and the Université Montpellier’s school of medicine was founded in 1220. Once the local docs give you a clean bill of health, explore the cathedral, mansions and opera house.

En Traits Libres is a very unique place in that it simultaneously acts as an artist studio, a gallery space and a boutique. 12 artists and one publishing house (Six Pieds Sous Terre) share the space: art covers the walls and books fill the shelves. Feel free to come in, have a look around, and talk to the artists working there - we love welcoming the public and sharing our process with others. :) Our opening hours are variable and correspond to the diverse working hours of the members. However, the studio/gallery/boutique is open every day of the week and sometimes on the weekends. If we are closed when you come by, don't hesitate to come back another time, or to give us a call! The 12 artists that are part of En Traits Libres are: Florence Billet, Marie-Noëlle Wurm, Ganaëlle Maury, Laure Papini, Christophe Bauer, Thomas Romarin, Mattt Konture, Sandra Vérine, Karine Castelneau, Frédérique Dupuis, Gaëtan Lüpke, Jacques Velay.
