Bottega del Rame Is a must stop in Montepulciano. And Rico Mazzetti is a third-generation copper craftsman. I’ve been to this shop at least four times, and always try to purchase something even if it is only a serving spoon. I just ordered two bigger copper pots with lids directly from the shop and they came to my house in the United States in four days. It is so exciting to unwrap items for my kitchen from this wonderful place. As soon as we are able to travel to Europe again, the first among my planned trips will be Tuscany and I will definitely go back to visit Mr. Mazzetti, his staff, and joyously wander around in his copper shop. Put it in your plans if you will be in Tuscany. You won’t regret it. Note: in order to post this review, I had to select a date. However my options were limited for that selection. I have been to the shop four times between 2006 and 2016.

We thoroughly recommend Icario, both for the wine and the experience. The wine tasting with Lucia was informative and a lot of fun (even in these dark days of COVID). The winery and grounds are beautiful and the passion of the owners towards wine-making is evident. You should definitely include this winery in your itinerary while in Montepulciano.

Really great! We’ve done this twice with different small groups of our friends. The grounds are beautiful and the English tours are very informative and interesting. We started in the morning with a cooking class. In this hands-on class, we made Tiramisu, Pici Pasta, and a roasted chicken dish that was started by being wrapped in Saran Wrap. All were delicious. Lunch was fabulous and being able to taste the wines we just learned about was well done. They have a nice gift shop with a good selection of wines. They ship, so of course we bought the Vin Santo! A must do when near Montepulciano!

We visited the estate today with Siena Grape Tours and had a wonderful time. This certified organic farm is also DOGC certified so you are assured of the quality of wine and the wine making process. This was explained to us brilliantly by Alberto who took us on a tour of the estate (stunning views, by the way) and talked us through the tasting of 5 delicious wines. As with most other estates in the area they specialise in sangiovese grapes and produce excellent Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Visit this estate for quality wine, great views and an enthusiastic guide who speaks English very well.

Really impressed, completely FREE wine caves to explore. Very interesting to see how the wine is made, with some information boards about. We were expecting a tourist trap with this situated on the main street, but that it was not. After the caves, we did some wine tasting, getting to try four different reds, though we probably could have tried more if we wanted. We had only set out to buy one bottle, and we did not feel pressured to purchase huge quantities or anything like that. We loved the bottle we purchased and left very happy!
