Great place to learn about an almost unknown, deadly battle in American history. Had a interesting talk with the ranger. There are great plans for historical restoration of the area.

This museum has a section on General Custer and a section on local people and institutions, including duck hunting; Miss America, famous local industries like La-z-Boy, a black self-taught painter, and the local fire department. Site is home to a collection of small historic buildings part of the County of Monroe's museum system and explores the history of Michigan from the 1790s to 1830s. Includes the Navarre-Anderson Trading Post, built in the 1780s - one of the oldest known buildings in the state. The nearby Navarre-Morris Kitchen dates from the 1810s. There's a functioning bake oven and replica barn built in the style of the area's French-Canadian settlers. Friendly staff and lots of neat programs scheduled throughout the year.

The park is nice, but it's really the great Vietnam Vets Memorial that is fantastic. Lots of sights and monuments. Even an actual helicopter. Plenty of parking.

There are vending machines with a variety of snacks and drinks. The literature, maps and information are free.

A nice riverside park with a playground area, and lots of nice river views. A grassy area that was well maintained, and a nice WWI memorial.
