Had a lovely afternoon at this wine tasting haven within the heart of Monmouthshire. I treated my parents and friends to day of wine tasting and lunch, this is the place to be, there are a pleasant variety of wines on show and we tried them all, this was followed by a healthy Cheese platter of which all food was sourced locally. The cost is £20 per head of which I feel is great value for Money, Richard the owner was a lovely host and very knowledgeable about the products he has on offer. This is a must try if in the area, you will love it if you love Wine!!! Thanks Richard

Definitely worth a visit, and it is free but you need to be good on the legs if you intend to visit the cells that seem deep underground. The information about the trial of the chartists and their fate is very well documented.

This is always my first stop when I visit Monmouth I never tire of the beautiful setting and you always get a sense of history going through the gate walking in the footsteps of so many before you over the centuries. It is unique too being the only fortified bridge to survive in Great Britain
