We are facility to enjoy Japanese culture at old zen temple in Miyajima, where you'll also find a beautiful Japanese garden that changes its colors seasonally. There's no charge for viewing the garden so feel free to walk through the gate. Come and enjoy with us!

The gondola is still not working (should be back working tomorrow), so we walked up. The posted sign said 90 minutes, but this 62 year old in good shape make it in one hour. The hike is 98% stairs, so no strollers! Bring water if you hike, though you can buy drinks at a machine by the buildings just below the top. The Lookout on top does close at 4pm, so make sure to arrive earlier since you will miss the best views if you can’t go up the Lookout.

Miyajima is a beautiful island. Hihgly recommend riding the ropeway/cable car up for stunning views of the mainland and other islands.

Located in miyajima island, this is a lovely trek where you can enjoy after seeing the shrine (which is under renovation). The area is hilly but is reasonable quiet and quaint. This is part of the trail if you decide to go up the ropeway (if you choose to walk and not taking the bus). Once you are done with the hill, you can use the small paths to go back to the main part of the island, gives you quite a nice feel of the island as it is a small neighborhood.

Fantastic little street with plenty of little shops and restaurants. Bear in mind you'll definitely leave some money in that little street, try Okonomiyaki in any of the restaurant as well as oysters in any small stand.

I knew before coming that the Toori gate was under renovation but still made the trip and glad I did. The island itself is a fun place to spend a half day or so. There are shrines, Mount Misen and loads of stalls to eat and bit souvenirs. The Boat trip across is short and getting to and from Hiroshima is easy on the train
