We took an old lumberyard and built an antique, upcycled and vintage store out of it. It became an attraction by adding 2 grain bins that you can shop in and we recycled a barn on the inside. We opened in November of 2018.
We absolutely LOVE Recycled Homestead. We have visited with family, couples, and even for business! There is literally something for every person to shop for. Vintage and antique.... unique, eclectic... diy... toys for kiddos... Name it, they probably have it! The building is gorgeous, an old lumberyard restored with upcycled materials, and the experience is nostalgic. The owners of the store, Chris and Noel, and their sweet family who operate it, make this place a must see each time we pass through. Just an hour south of the city, and WELL worth the drive. Go check it out, you won't be disappointed!!

Popular farmers market on Saturdays.
City Market is a gathering place for weekends. On Saturdays there is the Farmers Market where fresh and local produce are available for sale. The permanent market stalls house grocery stores, restaurants, and art houses. Recently, a microbrewery has opened too in the area. The main tourist attraction located here is the Treasure of Steamboat Arabia, a museum displaying items from the recovered steamboat Arabia. The square is also called River Market and is the north terminus for the new KC Streetcar; so it is easily accessible from downtown Kansas City.

Soulard Market is the oldest farmers market west of the Mississippi established in 1779 and is open Wednesday-Saturday. We have local farmers, one organic farmer, a world class bakery, spice shop, and many produce vendors that handle local and shipped in produce. The market also carries a variety of other general merchandise like shirts, jewelry, incense, sports memorabilia, hand made soaps, carpet, photography and hand made crafts. We are open 52 weeks a year. Our location is within a mile of Busch Stadium, Anheuser-Busch Brewery, the Gateway Arch & Riverboat Cruises, and the National Blues Museum. Our neighborhood is home to approx. 40 restaurants & bars, historic homes, and live music 7 days a week.
We come here year round to buy spices because my husband loves to cook and grill. They have a variety of spices, coffee, and teas. Also have Cajun food accessories such as dirty rice, gumbo, etc. They also have a meat market, deli, fruits and vegetables, honey, jellies and jams, homemade breads and rolls and desserts. You can also eat and drink and be merry and enjoy the live musicians. My one wish is that they're open on Sundays but after seeing how busy they are on Saturdays, they need Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to rest!!!
