Every neighborhood in San Francisco has its own personality, from the hippie chic of the Upper Haight to the hipster grit of the Mission. The Marina district boasts trendy bistros and postcard-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge, while Noe Valley offers quaint and quiet boutiques. Wave hello to the sea lions at Pier 39, and sample local cheese and charcuterie at the Ferry Building. Sit in on a yoga session in Dolores Park or marvel at the Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach.

Last Minute Gear is the easiest way to get outdoor gear for camping, backpacking, climbing, and snowsports clothing. Buy new gear, borrow free from our community library, or rent 24/7/365 (access via our electronic door & locker system). We can also deliver or ship to you!
I travelled from overseas to California in October 2019 and decided to save on luggage by not bringing my own camping equipment. I found Last Minute Gear online and decided to give it a try. I rented a large tent and a camping stove along with cooking utensils. Everything worked perfectly from ordering via communications to delivery of the equipment (from a locker with 24 hours access and wifi access!) and it was all in good condition. I wholeheartedly recommend these guys! Already looking forward to the next camping trip!

If you're looking for a lot of books and a pleasant place to peruse them, seek no further. Alley Cat Books opened on 24th Street in the heart of the Mission in 2011, and has since supplied a book-hungry neighborhood with new, used, and remaindered books--in English and Spanish!
