We asked around to find the somewhat hidden location of this well-known haunted place. We went before dawn and walked to the location from the road. A well can be seen along the path followed by the partially collapsed building and dense trees. We took lots of pictures and surprisingly there were mysteriously unexplained images present. For example, one of the shots in living room shows the letters “SOS” appearing out of nowhere. In another picture of my brother and my husband, both of their eyes were distorted. When were about to go back to get our car, my brother lead us to different route which was deep inside the forest. I also saw a white shadowy figure flying around maybe due to my sensitivity to witnessing and sensing spirits. Being there actually was not too creepy nor scary, but the creepy part was what was seen through the pictures. There is giant tree , similar to a Banyan tree is holding this haunting house all around and growing through it, as though it gets its life force from the building rather than the soil. There are different versions of the origins of this haunted house. This haunted house used to be a mansion with several family members living here many years ago. The well was known to be where a maid jumped in and committed suicide due to an illicit affair with one of the young owners. Also, it is said some other family members hung themselves inside the house and that other young maids were physically abused to death. Another version says that when the Japanese ruled Taiwan, some soldiers attacked enemies they saw through the fog during middle of the night but they ended killing their own soldiers by mistake. This place had been on my bucket list for several years and I am very pleased to have had this 'goosebumps' experience, but I won’t be back. One visit is enough. I strongly recommend visitors to come feel the haunting ambiance of this place.
