What to do and see in Minneapolis, Minnesota (MN): The Best Arenas & Stadiums

July 4, 2021 Kiesha Cripe

With its gleaming skyscrapers set amid glittering lakes, Minneapolis makes for an attractive and fun getaway. A truly year-round destination, the city offers activities for every season. In winter, one can explore the downtown area through more than seven miles of glass-enclosed skyways. In addition to keeping you warm, they create a lively thoroughfare filled with specialty shops, restaurants and services. Whether you want to escape the winter cold or the summer warmth, the Mall of America offers shopping, dining and entertainment options for any time of the year and every member of the family. Art lovers have plenty to see at the Minneapolis Art Institute, Walker Art Center and the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, which all house world-renowned collections. The theater scene is thriving. With more than thirty theaters, Minneapolis has more seats per capita than any U.S. city except New York. See a Broadway show and enjoy dinner and live jazz at a fabulous restaurant. With kids in tow, check out the Science Museum of Minnesota, where visitors can produce their own video, or come face to face with a shark at the UnderWater Adventures Aquarium. In summer, the action moves outside. Known as "The City of Lakes," Minneapolis has 22 lakes located within city limits and many more in the surrounding area. In town, hordes of locals and tourists in-line skate or stroll around Lake Calhoun, stopping for ice cream along the way. Just outside of town, Fort Snelling State Park offers outdoor recreational activities from hiking to biking and golf to boating. No matter when you visit, Minneapolis offers lots for everyone to enjoy.

A great place to see My Gophers or other events at The Bank. Good food selection options. Sit on the sunny side during cold weather, sit on the shady side when it is hot out. Try out some good food options in the end zone plaza area.

Mariucci Arena

We have been attending this skating competition which is held at the Marriucci arena for the past 7 years! The arena is located in the campus of University of Minnesota (across from the football field). The facility is impressive! Parking can be found around the arena and it does have pay for parking lots across the road or metered spots on the road. Getting into the arena has some challenges in the winter due to how far it is from the drop zone to the doors. Also, once inside you have to take the escalator up or the stairs to gain access to the viewing and seating area. There are concession around the rink but for this competition only some of them are open near where the skating vendors set up! This is a good size synchro competition and is worth coming to watch if you are in town!

Old world venue with a touch of modern. Nice and clean, friendly staff, NO METAL DeTECTORS, and not a bad seat in the house. Best place to watch a basketball game in town!

Well,I went to the Broncos/vikings game in 2019. ( im a Broncos fan from Denver) Sadly we lost after blowing a 20-0 lead but it was a real nice indoor stadium. Had an outdoor feel but was inside. Also, the cheese curds at the stadium was the best food I've gotten at any NFL stadium on my life. And I've been to about 20 stadiums. I still think about them. Be sure to get those if you go.

Worked with the premium experience team and had an amazing evening. The General's Hall was our home base but had access to entire venue. Spent some time with the crowd on floor then watched from above with an amazing view. Armin was on fire that night. Sound was incredible and the light show absolutely wild. We were treated right the whole night, from beginning to end.
