Fort Walla Walla Museum is a walking museum located on 17 acres, and is a must-see for visitors. As the primary caretaker of the cultural and historical heritage of the Walla Walla Valley, the Museum features four large exhibit halls housing thousands of artifacts, a pioneer village, a 33-mule team hitched to a wooden combine, and more. The Entrance Building features several galleries, including one for rotating special exhibits, and an admission-free Museum Store filled with books and heritage gifts. On the lower level of the grounds is a Pioneer Village with 17 buildings, many of them furnished, for guests to explore. There are more than 40 living history performances every year that take place in the village. The Museum also hosts additional activities, classes, and events—like the free Museum After Hours presentation series, which features thought-provoking topics on everything from history to conservation. The Fort Walla Walla Museum provides a memorable experience for the whole family, and you’re sure to learn something new during every visit. Come see what’s new at the old fort today!
This is a small museum with a limited scope but when they offer is interesting and well-scaled to the casual visitor. The doctrinaire text info re First Peoples does not stand up to the rigors of historical scholarship, but the implements and artifacts of early life in the region are very compelling and provocative.

So, so bummed about our experience at the tasting room in Woodinville! We found Zerba Cellars originally in Walla Walla; where we met the owners who offered the most generous hospitality and more importantly - the BEST wines! We were thrilled when they opened up a tasting room in Dundee, OR., and joined their wine club at that time. We purchased cases & cases of their wine; and were huge advocates and collectors of Zerba Wines for years, and until we moved outside of the Pacific NW. Today when tasting wines in Woodinville, WA. we found that Zerba had a tasting room & were totally excited to taste & purchase their wines. We were so embarrassed that we had spoken so highly about heir wines, and when we made our hosts stop! The experience was horrible! The lady behind the bar was more interested in her poodle doing tricks than us tasting the wine. She had no interest in our experience & history with Zerba Cellars; & was less than thrilled about Zerba's wines, or having us taste them. She lent no explanation of our tastes. She was a horrible representation of the brand. If I was the owner, she'd be fired on the spot. We walked out with no wine & a horrible taste in our mouths! Horrible, horrible experience! No need to stop!!! SO bummed... And SO mortified that we'd so highly spoken about the brand. Very embarrassing experience.

Love this place! Located on a small farm property just a few miles southwest of Walla Walla, Washington in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, this nano-brewery serves its delicious, small-production Belgian-inspired craft ales from a shed. Do a tasting, learn a little about their process and then take a beer out to a lawn chair to relax in the sun. I especially like the Belgian IPA.

In case you didn't read the title of my review, oh my goodness! This is the place for lovers of fine chocolate. This is no ordinary chocolate. This is way chocolate is meant to be. The only good thing to come out of missing our Horizon flight out of Walla Walla (because it left early), was a chance to visit this wonderful little slice of dark chocolate heaven. It's not inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for!
I think this is the best evidence I've seen that the Walla Walla valley is becoming the next Napa Valley. Buy a house quick!

A local park with free concerts during the summer.
We decided that we wanted to go to the drive-in in Milton-Freewater, Oregon and found out that they had an aquatic center, so we made a day of it. The cost is ony $18 for the family or $3 per child 17 and under/ $4.50 for adults.
There are two slides, spiral and speed types. My older two children thoroughly enjoyed these slides and were constantly on them. Considering that we were there mid-week during the afternoon session and that we were in a small city, there wasn't a wait. The minimum height requirement for both slides is 48". There is a large area for the kids to swim and a kiddie area with a zero depth entrance, frog slide, and a couple of other water features (see pictures). My four year old was bummed about not being able to use the big slides, but had a blast anyways. They do not allow parents to take children down the slides, which was a bummer.
There is also a sandy area for kids to play with a couple of ride-on toys and in another section is a volleyball net. Had I known this, I would have brought along sand toys. At the entrance/exit of the sand area, there is a shower/rinse-off area. Very well thought out!
We brought food with us inside, but I didn't check their policy. There are a few tables with umbrellas near the concession area and plenty of lounge chairs lined up around the pool. There is also a covered area with picnic tables. I opted to put our towels under a small shade tree near the sandbox.
There a few reasons that I only gave this an average rating. The first one is that I didn't want people to think that this aquatic center was on par with the larger theme-park aquatic centers. This, however, is an excellent community pool. Second, I found that two of the life guards were a bit snippy with me. I treat people respectfully and expect the same in return. One of the life guards saw that my son was climbing UP the small frog slide and was quite rude in his attitude toward me. I correct my son, and thanked the young man. His attitude changed when I returned his rudeness with kindness. My children and husband said that another guard was also rude to them. I think that there needs to be a tact-lesson for these employees. If it had only been one guard, I'd have given this attraction four stars.

Blue Mountain Cider Company produces handcrafted artisan style hard apple ciders. Our ciders are less filling than beer and lower in alcohol than wine, and are always gluten free. They are a refreshing alternative to beer and wine and are a perfect compliment to a variety of different foods. Our goal is to reintroduce our customers to the history and tradition that our forefathers enjoyed - hard apple cider. Open Daily for Tasting: 11am-5pm
Though less alcoholic in content than wine, Hard Ciders are gaining popularity for good reason: a combination of taste, texture (bubbles in some cases) and mild tastes as well as aloohol, makes this product an interesting to the usual wine-tasting experience. Though they do offer some wines for tasting, the focus of this Cidery is Hard Cider. Tastes range from various types of apples to raspberry and cherry. I recommend a full tasting. I think these ciders are a fine alternative to sparkling wines and those hard-core wine tasters who are looking for someting a bit different and worthy of a fine palette.

Offers original furnishings from the Frazier families journey from Texas to Oregon after the Civil War.
I saw an article in our local paper and had no idea that this place was so close by. Went on a Saturday, as they are only open Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Ring the bell, and walk into the past. Your host is very knowledgeable and the home is kept in wonderful repair. I am writing a book placed in the 1800's and wanted to get a bit off inspiration. It is just how I pictured the era and got some good references. Really was glad to make the find. The museum operates on donations, but you will be impressed as you walk through and a hands on feel of the place.

Where Milton-Freewater original families are buried.
We have family in the old city cemetery and spend time once a year cleaning head stones and learning about family.

Although the pottery made on site is the main attraction, this place has something for everyone. Starting with the pottery shop, you can shop and watch the pieces being made. They have beautiful pottery at reasonable prices. The facility also includes a gift shop with lots of creative options, an espresso/coffee shop and a nice outside courtyard with outdoor decor.

A few miles off the main road and a little tricky to find, this nature park is well worth the trip. It is free for day use to enjoy the pristine grounds, bubbling streams, picnic areas, horseshoe games, birdwatching, and a well done playground. The entrance to the Umatilla National Forest is at the very back of the park (follow the signs/dirt road) where there is parking so you can enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, and motorcycling down the dedicated trails. Overnight stays at the campsite area are inexpensive and include RV(water and electric)/tent (potable water) sites, small or large shelters, and Yurts/cabins.
