This place seems to have charisma and unique style. The resurrected old theater of Millville -more or less thriving - brought back to life by grassroots initiative. The building is now in its peak glory. The classic interior design is graceful and practical. The offer this theater presents attracts a lot of patrons for past five years. When in Millville do not miss Levoy. And combine it with dinner at one of High Street.

My first visit to the Preserve and I am very impressed. This is exactly what I've been looking for. If you combine the loops it's just over 5 miles of hills, forest, river views, and wildlife. Trails are very well marked. I hiked it all in the rain and never saw another human. Tons of wildlife though. Lots of photo ops so don't forget your camera. As a bonus, there are historical remains of a house and the Cargill Granary. There is also a floating dock on the river. Excellent morning hike. No facilities or drinking water so come prepared. FREE!
Highly recommended.

The RRCA offers art education classes to adults, children and families, make-and-take projects, and a beautiful gift shop full of unique art work, crafts and jewelry by local artisans. It also has three exhibit spaces that showcase art work by artists of many mediums from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
It is a real community art center. It features temporary exhibits usually of local importance, organizes classes and programs. It is especially lively during the monthly "Third Friday" events in Millville. A nice souvenir and gift store almost always features some unique and pretty items. Every visitor to Millville should visit this attractive institution.

Southwind Vineyard & Winery is located in Deerfield Township (mailing address is Millville) in Cumberland County, New Jersey. It has been a family horse farm since 1978 and the vineyard was first planted in 2006. It opened to the public in 2012.
According to Wikipedia, Southwind has approximately "4 acres of grapes under cultivation", and produces on average about "800 cases of wine per year. The winery's name reflects the Southern origin of the farm's original owners, and their desire to provide Southern hospitality." The farm also offers horse boarding and hunter pacing.
While the tasting room is relatively small, the abundance of hospitality more than makes up for any perceived lack of space. It is an inviting ambiance reminiscent of a living room in an old house. The only thing missing is a stone fireplace.
There is an outdoor space suitable for larger groups. Beware the overly-friendly dogs however. They can make you forget it's not your own backyard.
Both the staff as well as the other visitors were welcoming and the reason our "stop in" became an all afternoon event. We even called other friends to come and join us.
To my palate, the wines were a little "scattered". However, I did enjoy the chardonnay as well as the merlot. For me, the chardonnay seemed to offer a hint of "gewurztraminer" which works to its benefit. They also make an interesting sparkling white. Debi, the winery manager, acknowledged their incorporation of grape from Chile and Argentina. For me, this is a "plus" as I have yet to find a New Jersey vineyard capable of producing consistent quality wines using home-grown grape exclusively.
So, if you're out for a drive and feeling the need for some good conversation to go with either your white or red, don't miss Southwind. It's truly an afternoon delight.

We were interested in seeing the sidecar races, tasting the Hank's Hot Sauces, and the craft beers that were advertised on the website. The racing was posted as starting at noon after the National Anthem. We had images of Hank standing there with his hot sauce as advertised and several craft beers. When we got there shortly before noon, we were disappointed to see that the sidecar races had already taken place earlier in the morning. The wings for Hank's sauce were undercooked and there were really only three types of sauce placed off to the side with no one remotely interested in selling or advertising the sauces. As for the craft beer, tents of craft beer were advertised, mind you not one but several. There was one tent with two craft beers, the one from the airport and a Vienna lager. There was supposed to a bike show but it was mostly people trying to hawk their bikes. We did have fun though watching the races but again were sad to have missed the sidecar races. Perhaps the organization could use someone to at least make sure what is posted on the website is accurate and keep it up to date.

This network of some of our favorite hiking and biking trails is set in the beautiful nature preserve on tidal Maurice river. There is a designated parking in front of the access gate and the information booth with trail maps and instructions. There is no entrance fee. The trails are fairly well marked but some areas are closed January 1 till July 31 for the protection of nesting eagles and other birds. River Overlook is a lovely and picturesque place. There are many spectacular photo opportunities in the Peek Preserve and it is one of the favorite South Jersey bird watching areas especially for Bald Eagles. The boardwalk that extends over the wetlands allows for observation of wild rice marshes and their habitats. This is a must-see attraction for all the nature lovers.
