Milford Haven Heritage & Maritime Museum

The Museum is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Milford Haven. Designed by Swansea architect, Jernigan, it was built in 1797 for the storage of whale oil awaiting transhipment for sale in London. Milford Haven has been connected with a number of industries – fishing, Quaker whaling from 1790s, which led to the whale oil industry and more recently the modern oil industry. It has also played an important role during the two World Wars, when it was a convoy assembly point for mine-sweeping. The Museum collection reflects all of these aspects of the town’s history, but focuses particularly on the maritime history. The Museum is a completely voluntarily run museum. It is currently re-constructing its management structure, but it currently consists of the Treasurer, Administrator and Curator. The museum is mainly funded by the Milford Haven Town Council, and the current mayor of Milford Haven is our Trust ex-chairman. The Museum is also supported by other organisations, such as Milford Haven Port Authority and South Hook LNG. The Museum currently holds an accredited status which is awarded by CyMAL.

Been here numerous times and it's still as lovely as ever. Large waiting area at the front and multiple screens/stages to view movies etc on. Oh and make sure to check out the view from the upstairs window!

We have just spent a week on holiday at Milford Waterfront in an apartment overlooking the Marina. We had a fantastic week. Waking up to the ever changing view of the boats in the marina on bright sunny days was just brilliant. The shops around the harbour are great and the various restaurants Offer excellent, quality food with equally brilliant service. We found everyone we met extremely friendly and helpful. We were staying during the 2020 Covid Virus and we felt safe in all situations, with all shops and restaurants putting in extra safeguarding.

Phoenix Bowl Milford Haven

Rainy day so went to Milford haven lovely waterfront but apart from a bakery we didn’t see anymore shops so didn’t pay to park. Instead went to bowling centre as a rainy day. All clean , friendly at hand staff. Bowling good and a great games of pool afterwards as 2 tables by the lanes and more avalible. Party of 5 of us and when a member asked staff for another cue as his was slightly bent the staff member let out his own personal cue which was very much appreciated , family member loved the cue. Highly recommend and free parking outside and disabled spaces avalible. Only downside is I felt drinks were pricey from kids cafe area.
