July 1, 2021 Merry Kessler

One of the world’s fashion capitals, Milan offers endless opportunities for chic shopping. Hit the artsy neighborhood of Brera for leather goods and Via Monte Napoleone for exclusive, expensive boutiques. The enchanting mosaics and glass vaults of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II make shoppers feel like they’re wandering inside a painting. Take break from your spree to gape at the iconic Duomo, then grab tickets to a performance at La Scala. Post-opera, the Navigli district pulses with late-night activity.

Milan is the Italian city who has most invested on its palatial and exclusive side. Milan welcomes demanding national and international guests every day and offers them a food scene of very high level. The Milan Gourmet food tour is a walking tour around the historical center of Milan. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities. Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible. Please, note that the tour is always run in English and Italian; other languages upon request.

Inclusions: Rich and filling gourmet lunch in steps, Bottled water, Local wine or beer in fixed amounts

It was a very nice experience in which we were able to visit pastry shops that we did not know despite being ancient and a pillar in Milanese patisserie. In addition, we were able to choose from a fairly wide variety of pastries. We then spent a different afternoon, in the company of a very easy-going and nice guide who managed, despite being from Milan, to take us through more unknown and less touristy streets, letting us discover aspects of a slightly different Milan!

Ele was just fantastic. She met us at Piazza Navona and took us through some wonderful highlights of Rome. We really enjoyed her descriptions of the sites, the Caravaggios we saw in one of the churches and the coffee we got. She also gave us some great tips on where to shop for gifts and places to eat while we visited Rome. She was fun to talk to and listen to and we're so glad we had a chance to enjoy a personal tour of some of the city's highlights. Thank you Ele! Our original travel date was November 2018 but we loved her so much we wanted to talk about it again.

Clara is a fabulous teacher and a gracious host! I was so glad we did the version with the market tour. What a bright and colorful way to start the morning! There was something for everyone in this class. My eight year old daughter had a blast and Clara was perfect with her, just as warm and patient as you would expect an Italian grandmother to be! I have almost no cooking experience and was able to keep up and even my husband who is a trained chef learned a ton of new things, especially about making risotto. This was absolutely a top highlight of our 4 days in Milan!!

Had a very good tour thanks to our wonderful guide Daniele. We were the only two people on the tour but it went ahead as planned and we had a very nice insightful tour round the centre of Milan. We did this at the start of a long weekend trip which gave us some good points of reference and some good ideas of where else to try for the rest of the trip. It included some history, famous landmarks, restaurant recommendations and some fun obscure facts. Definitely worth a visit if you are exploring Milan. Segways are very easy to get to grips with, anyone can do it and it adds another fun element to explore with, particularly when it's super hot!
