Jutland's cultural heart, Århus is an exuberant university town with a perfectly preserved old town and a recreated historic village, Den Gamle By. The top draw is the Moesgard Museum of Prehistory, showcasing exhibits from the Stone Age to Viking days and home to the city's most famous citizen, the 2000-year-old Grauballe Man. It's a lively spot, teeming with cafes, restaurants, clubs and cinemas. Denmark's second-largest city perches on Jutland's eastern coast amid beaches and woodland.

Over 300 foot long,Arhus Cathedral is the longest ecclesiastical building in Denmark, and the only cathedral situated close to the sea.It is dedicated to St.Clement, the patron of sailors. The cathedral we see today took about 300 years to build, and has been modified and restored. You can visit the cathedral for free outside worshipping hours. You can get a guided tour but there is a price to pay.The catherdral can sit over 1000 worshippers. This is a MUST visit if in Arhus.

Take a stroll through Møllestien while you are going from ARoS to Åen or the Latin quarter anyway. Cozy with a great atmosphere cobbled stones and old, old houses.

I love this place. Cinema is very small and cozy and you can have a glass of vine or some hot beverages with you.

This is a great place for a different shopping experience. There are lots of interesting boutiques and you don’t have to settle for your average chain stores. Make sure to stop for a coffee or drinks at some of the nice places in the neighbourhood.

In the old Mission House Carmel you will find Hotel Carmel. The hotel consists of 14 rooms all individually decorated and each with its own history. Heidi Bielfeldt who owns Heidis MixBix in Mejlgade has been responsible for the decor of the hotel rooms. There are all categories from our smallest single room to the double room, the family room and up to the suites. We appreciate personality, a cozy atmosphere and, not least, an exciting stay.

A small and well-arranged Museum that does not overwhelm the visitors with too much information or flashy effects. It is an excellent introduction to the city's medieval past. Truly recommended.
