Kazan Kremlin

The historic fortress dating back to the 16th to 19th centuries.

Reviewed By 30vladimirr - Moscow, Russia

Kazan Kremlin, an amazing historical place, on the banks of the Volga River. the walls and towers of the Kremlin are very well preserved. The Kremlin itself in architecture is very similar to the Pskov Kremlin. Also white towers and walls, also round towers. I liked the building very much. It was in winter, a cold wind was blowing from the river, it was -23 Celsius, snow was falling, so we moved from museum to museum. On the territory of the Kremlin, there is a museum of the history of this break off and the emergence of the Kazan Khanate in the beginning, and so on. I recommend to visit those who are fond of history, like me).

Konstantin Vasilyev's Museum

Reviewed By JMK-Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh, United States

I wasn’t familiar with the artist but was impressed with the museum. His work was varied and most of it was pretty good. We also got to talk with an artist who currently has an exhibit at the museum. He was very friendly and it was interesting to hear him explain what he was trying to convey in his art.

Stalin's Bunker

Reviewed By kennysteen - St. Petersburg, Russia

We visited this on our first trip to Samara in Feb 2019. The tour was only available in Russian, but thankfully my wife was able to provide additional translation where I didn't understand. The tour guide is extremely knowledgeable and is more than happy to share more than just the standard tour speech. It is a very cool place to get an insight into how important Kuybyshev (now Samara) was to the Soviets during the war and to understand why Stalin decided to have the bunker built here. The fact that none of the surrounding embassies/consulates were aware of the structure is quite incredible. Highly recommend this attraction.

Was there with 1 day excursion in July 2020. It takes a while to drive there from Kazan (be ready, some toilets on the way cost a money). This historical and architectual comlex is situated in very beautiful area on the river side with stunning views. In museums you can learn about Tatarstan and tatar's history, migration of different folks. In the cafe there most food is with meat and chicken, if you don't eat this take some food with you.
