Portage Wake was founded with one goal in mind... teaching YOU how to wake surf. Wake surfing is a sport that uses a boat to create a wave large enough to surf and at low speeds and low impact so it is fun for all ages and experience levels. Other water sport lessons include wake boarding, wake skating and water skiing all on the Portage Canal in Houghton, MI. Also offering jet ski rentals!

We created Surf Starters to help beginner wakesurfers own the wake. And we've expanded to offer eFoil demos too. Our Rapid Ride™ method is an all-in-one recipe for success. SurfStarters is located on on Walloon Lake, Michigan. When you start your day with Surf Starters, you can maximize your time (and fun) out on the water.

Looking for something fun for your family to do this summer? Join Third Coast Surf Shop for our kids' beach day camps, available all summer long on Lake Michigan. Camps are available at two southwest Michigan beaches (Harbor Country/New Buffalo and St. Joseph/Benton Harbor) all summer long -- you pick the location and week. Sessions run 9 am to 12 pm, Monday through Friday each week.
