At the shore in Miami Beach, visitors can swim, surf and jet ski in the warm and crystal-clear Atlantic waters. You can also nap on the white sands, work on a tan or simply watch the beautiful people, especially at South Beach, a favorite of models and celebrities.

This is always one of my first ports of call when in Miami Beach. The quality of the new and vintage items they buy in is exceptional, as are the staff. Every pair of sunglasses I own originated from here.

The Visit Miami Beach Visitor Center has a multilingual staff to answer travel questions, provide directions and public transportation information, assist with itineraries and make recommendations on dining, sightseeing and cultural options. The Center also sells tours, provides on-site and website hotel reservations, discounted tickets to attractions and provides maps, travel guides, and brochures as well as Go Miami Cards and Explorer Passes.
We love to visit places such as these because usually there is an actual knowledgeable person working there who can answer any questions you may have, plus tell you about the surrounding area that you are trying to explore. When we entered this particular Visitor Center, that was a few blocks away from our hotel on 17th street, we were welcomed very pleasantly, and were given a lot of information and details about various tours, Including the Duck Tour, -- where they start, how to get there, etc. The lady who was there (unfortunately, we did not get her name) was wonderful. She also informed us about the Trolley system in the city, the routes, the stops and the timings. All that information was particularly useful for us tourists. The place was neat, tidy and organized, and we left with a lot of maps and brochures, plus booked the Hop-On/Hop-Off Bus Tour while we were there. We are still kind of “Old School”. We like to study actual maps of the area, and walk around confidently, just like a local, knowing where we want to go. Certainly beats walking around in a daze staring at Google Maps on the cell phone trying to figure stuff out on our own. We were able to make the most out of our vacation because of this place. Wished we had found it a few days earlier. They even have a pretty Blue Metal Flamingo displayed there – a remnant of an art exhibit in the city from the previous year. Recommend a stop if you are in the area.
