At the shore in Miami Beach, visitors can swim, surf and jet ski in the warm and crystal-clear Atlantic waters. You can also nap on the white sands, work on a tan or simply watch the beautiful people, especially at South Beach, a favorite of models and celebrities.

The New World Symphony (NWS), America's Orchestral Academy, opened its newly-designed 'campus' designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, in February 2011 (previously, the NWS was located in the Lincoln Theater on Lincoln Road). NWS's new home is a $160 million building with attached garage located in a 2.5 acre park at the corner of 17th Street and Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.
We went to a Chamber Music concert and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great concert hall acoustics. And the rooftop Garden is not to be missed - great views of the surrounding South Beach area.

Always a great time at Ocean Drive. Lots of tourists and very expensive cars :-) It's gotten pricier since my last visit

This is always one of my first ports of call when in Miami Beach. The quality of the new and vintage items they buy in is exceptional, as are the staff. Every pair of sunglasses I own originated from here.

The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU is the only Museum dedicated to telling the story of 250 years of Florida Jewish heritage, arts and culture. The museum is housed in two adjacent lovingly restored historic buildings, at 301 Washington Avenue on South Beach, that were once synagogues for Miami Beach's first Jewish congregation. The museum's focal point is its core exhibit, "MOSAIC: Jewish Life in Florida, 1763 to Present" and its temporary history and art exhibits that change periodically. A Collections and Research Center, several films, Timeline Wall of Jewish history, museum Store filled with unique items and Bessie's Bistro complete the experience for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
The museum is being renovated, but has a wonderful art show in its annex next door with impressive works by famous artists such as Marc Chagall. The show is well worth stopping for. However, make sure you take the walking tour of "Jewish South Beach" with Howard Brayer, who is amazingly knowledgeable volunteer. Armed with photos, he will make you see so much that you missed noticing in that neighborhood. Thank you Mr. Brayer, we really enjoyed our tour!

Dedicated in 1990, Kenneth Treister's striking environmental memorial is dominated by the Sculpture of Love and Anguish, a 40-foot-tall outstretched hand, reaching to the sky.
This was a very powerful and beautifully sad memorial. Though small, it captures the horrors of this dark time in human history.

People watching is a great pastime in Miami's South Beach, which draws celebrities and beautiful people in skimpy swim attire to see and be seen. The wide and fine, white sand-covered beaches are popular spots for fashion photo shoots, so you're sure to see models. The area is known for its hip clubs and wild nightlife as well as numerous excellent restaurants.
Lots has already been said about this beach. One of the popular spots in the world known for white sand, warm waters, great beach side restaurants, beach walk way etc etc. Efforts taken to keep the place safe, secure and clean are worth appreciation. You can spend hours amidst the serenity of this beach, soaking up some sun or just watch people strolling, working out, dancing and enjoying themselves. Great getaway during chilly winters - just pack your beach wear and a pair of shades and you are all set. Advisable to not drive a car to this place because parking is painful and expensive. Uber/Lyft is the right choice.

Lummus Park Beach is a popular park & beach area in the South Beach neighborhood. It runs along Ocean Drive from about 6th to 14th streets.
So many options. There are playgrounds for the kids, paths to walk, job, skate or ride bicycles on, sand volleyball courts, weight equipment, yoga classes, etc. They've also got plenty of public restrooms and access to tons of restaurants. All of this right next to the beautiful beach and ocean.

A museum, library, and research center that invites exploration of the persuasive power of art and design.
Great collection and narrative for Art Deco design. Definitely worth a stop! The gift shop is full of books and gift items, including great selection for children.
