Great place for families to go and enjoy all the sights, tastes and smells of Fall in central NY. Family business for generations, beautiful grounds and things for kids to enjoy. Not to mention outstanding selection of apples, cider, pumpkins, etc. Have a great time and take it all in!

Thanks to Tripadvisor, we stopped here to visit and were not disappointed. We have seen many forts like this one and we enjoyed learning about Fort Ontario's history. They have done up many of the rooms with flair, adding some mannequins to give it life. Nice job. Nominal fee to get in. Worth the stop.

Searching for a beach on Lake Ontario in upstate New York around the Oswego area. Drove over to Mexico Point Park which is a bit off the beaten track. Found a beautiful grassy, wooded park on the great lake with picnic tables, and a tiny beach (and a charming lifeguard). Once a destination point for prohibition rum-runners and vacationers to the Mexico Point Club built in 1906, all that remains today is the stone ruins of the burnt lodge, and the original carriage house which was remodeled in the 30's by a Columbia sociologist professor and German artist into a tiny 11th century medieval manor house, "Casey's Cottage." The tour is free, the docent was delightful and full of information and the entire experience was unique. Worth the drive if you're looking for a pretty, secluded park overlooking Lake Ontario and a fascinating work of architectural history.

This park is great to get away. The beach is pretty clean and is good size. There is camping, a baseball field, excellent fishing and boating opportunities. It is a great place to visit during all seasons. Up above from the beach is a very nice area with picnic tables which is ideal for parties or picnics. There are also paved roads which is great if you have strollers or wheel chairs. A great place for sunrises and sunsets!

Opened late in the 1980's, the Douglaston Salmon Run was developed as a low pressure, catch and release fishing environment to maximize the outdoor experience of every guest. Two and a half miles of private waters fishing offers a world class sports fishing destination with seven nearby lodges available year round for guests. Over the years, the DSR has evolved into a fishing experience for every type of angler, but definitely those who value natural surroundings as much as catching fish. Fly fishermen, casters, and drift boat fishing types come to the DSR for the catch and release, the atmosphere of respectful outdoor sporting, and for the attentive staff who work year round to keep the DSR clean, accessible and a good value.
I recently travelled to Pulaski on my 1st steelhead fishing trip. I spent 4 days fishing local streams without success. I was reluctant to pay the $50, and that's not a typo, for a one day visit to DSR. Also, all fish caught must be released. The fee is quite high. My suggestion to the Dar team would be to consider selling a week long pass at discounted pricing.

The production value alone is worth the visit. The set design is movie level quality. There is the house, the labyrinth and a mine shaft, all high end design and stocked with what felt like dozens of actors trained to terrify you. I learned they start setting up in March, and start training the actors around June! This is a quality show.
Screamed my fool head off the entire time. Inventive, scary, well played, and sitting around after, watching the free movie on the big screen doesn't protect you from the wandering ghouls....
Highly recommend. This is a must see Halloween attraction.

The New York Yankees have put some money into Calfee Park and it's a great mix between new and old.
Good sightlines, although you can get behind a beam in general admission, but hey move around it-it is general admission after all!
Concessions are reasonable and parking is free.
New video board (rare for the league) and new backed seating makes Calfee the Cadillac of the Appy League.
The perfect blend of old and new...

Good Times Sportfishing is a proffesional charter operation that operates out of the Light House Marina on the "World Famous" Salmon River in Pulaski, NY. Our 31' Sportcraft is well equiped with all tackle and safety equipment to give you the trip of a lifetime catching trophy trout and salmon on Lake Ontario. Fish cleaning included.
The captain and mate are very knowledgable about where to go and what tackle will be effective. The mate is extremely efficient getting tackle deployed and back in, and retrieving our fish. And he made an excellent filet job into short work back at the dock. It couldn't be any easier. Yet for all they did, they weren't keeping trade secrets to themselves. Nick was happy to explain the why's and hows of their trolling techniques. The boat was spacious, stable, and comfortable. Part of the day was beautiful and part it rained. We were never inconvenienced. Everything was fun and the day went as planned. I would recommend this outfit anytime, they know what they're doing.
