Elm Creek Singletrack Trail

Reviewed By nancyb890 - Champlin, United States

The snow has finally melted and the paths are now clear. Took my first walk of 2019 and as always, this place is full of life. The frogs and crickets were chirping and the night sky was beautiful as well. Can't wait to visit multiple times in the upcoming season. Grounds are very well maintained and one of the most peaceful areas of the Elm Creek park reserve near the east side of the City of Champlin

Baker Park Reserve

Reviewed By BONNIEW949 - Onalaska, United States

For the last 40 years we have had a family reunion in the park at Lake Independence, on top of the hill where you can see the entire lake and feel the breezes. The trees have gotten much bigger and the concession stand is gone but the place still holds great memories for our people. There is renovation going on with the sidewalks but the children's play area is still there and the swimming beach is also. We did notice that most of the grills are missing from the park so don't forget to bring a small grill if you need to cook food.

Gateway Trail

Seventeen-mile trail stretching from Stillwater to St. Paul, Minnesota.

Reviewed By TravelingSoccerLoon - Saint Paul, United States

One of the best paved biking trails in the Twin Cities. I especially enjoy the 9.7 mile stretch from North St Paul near I-694 and Hwy 36 out to Pine Point Regional Park. The trail is mostly flat without any strenuous climbs except going over a couple bridges and takes you past pleasant countryside including farms, lakes and rolling hills and much of it is shaded by trees. There are several access points including the two mentioned above and I've never had trouble finding a parking spot even though it is a popular biking trail. There are a couple spots on the trail requiring you to cross a road but traffic is usually light on these roads. You also have the option of combining all or a portion of the trail with biking on the Brown's Creek Trail which intersects the Gateway Trail at Duluth Junction and takes you out to Stillwater and the St Croix River.

Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve

Reviewed By TriCityDude - Saginaw, United States

Great place for a hike. Hikes for about an hour around a pretty little lake, with sunset views. Some paths paved. Some dirt. But plenty wide and clear. Small hills. Good get away exercise place. Early December with no snow, yet they had made snow and had x-c skiers doing some of the loops. Impressive!
