The Mabel Tainter Theater is a travel destination in western Wisconsin not to be missed. Built in 1889, this 261-seat “crown jewel” Victorian theater in Menomonie boasts hand-stenciled walls and ceilings, marble staircase and floors, stained glass windows, four fireplaces and the original Steere & Turner tracker pipe organ. It’s absolutely breathtaking. Even CNN Travel agrees: the Mabel Tainter was ranked as one of the 15 Most Spectacular Theaters in the World.

This is the most beautiful trail in Wisconsin. Relatively easy ride. Plenty of photo opportunities. Crushed limestone. Busy near the park with walkers.

Imagine a charming stone bridge with magical waterfalls, wistful gazebos, and sun drenched patios. Add to that, a collection of old-world cottages nestled into the countryside of soft, rolling hills. In the distance, vistas and cascading, lush, green vineyard add to the magical feel of this unique winery. This is the ideal location for your fairytale wedding, wine reception, gala party or an intimate gathering. Inside, you can taste and savor the vintner's craft from Wisconsin and around the world. The tasting room offers wine tastings, wine by the glass and bottle, a small line of beer and soda, artisan cheese and cracker basket, and chocolates. No reservation required, just stop on out during open hours. Cheers!

This is a must see for our area, it offers the most beautiful overlook of many surrounding cities including Menomonie, Colfax, Elk Mound, Eau Claire and the surrounding areas. Great hiking trails, well posted with the most common route as well as nature signs for learning. Trails for all ages and activity levels. Fall is our favorite hike to check out the array of gorgeous colors.

My wife and I are moving to the Menomonie area and have been trying out the local restaurants. The Waterfront is likely to become one of our regulars. It's small but comfortable. Having gone in the wintertime the deck overlooking the lake wasn't open and we are looking forward to going back when we can sit out there. We were there for lunch and with the snow, there weren't many other people there. I suspect it can really get hopping in the evening and likely a lot of fun. The menu was "typical bar fair" with some very interesting twists. We will require numerous return visits to try and enjoy. Needless to say the food we had was very good. Service was spot on - friendly and fast. We will widely recommend Waterfront.
