Our traditional dog-friendly corner pub and bed and breakfast is situated just minutes from the railway station, St Mary's church and the Market Place. As a Freehouse we are able to offer a superb selection of local and national real ales and ciders across 6 handpulls and we have gained much support from our local CAMRA branch. Craig is a keen ale lover and sources a wide variety of unusual and highly sought after beer. Our single room bar, offers 2 open fires, 2 darts boards, a pool table and jukebox. We are proud to be the Home of Music in Melton; hosting live music every Friday, Saturday & Sunday. You would be forgiven for expecting the usual types of covers band; but we are also keen music lovers and liek to offer something different so we carefully pick our bands in order to offer an eclectic mix for our customers. Sundays for instance have the most diverse mix of acts, from modern acoustic to Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz and much more....We are also staunch supporters of originall music and host singer/songwriter events called 'Wax Lyrical' and Open Mic nights for plug and play opportunities on a monthly basis. We have a discreet 'Yard-en' for smokers, offering heating and shelter.

And with rooms to hire for meetings, too! Melton Mowbray may style itself the Rural Capital of Food; the museum is the key to understanding how that claim came to be made (Cattle - Cows - Milk - Stilton Cheese (& Butter) - Whey - Pigs - Pork - Pies, from pigs and local flour mills). But it also has really interesting local features on Melton's efforts in the World Wars (Defence Animals Centre, Auster aircraft, etc) and of course the inevitable history of Foxhunting in the Shire Counties. Good opening hours and helpful staff - try it. You won't be disappointed.
