Spanning 4 generations and more than 100 years, this is probably the oldest bar in Melaka. The lovely aunty is also the coolest and friendliest bartenders I’ve ever met.

We spent some time staying in the attached, Hotel by the River. They provide a 10% discount to all guests at the bar/cafe. Best thing of the bar is Fay, the friendliest smile along the river ❤️. Fay made us feel so welcome and she worked so hard. Was great to come back after our excursions to sit down and have a chat to Fay and a lovely cold drink. The food was also brilliant. This was a wonderful home away from home, including the Hotel. The attached photo shows Fay waving to us from the bar as we cruised up the river. Fay had her phone out to take a photo of us as we cruised by!

The best place to relax and unwind to non-stop reggae music along the Melaka river.
Imagine yourself laid back on a shabby wooden chair, surrounded with friendly and interesting people, listening to hypnotic and meditative, yet rhytmic reggae music, sipping a (not expensive) beer, watching the calm flowing river and boats passing by filled with smiling tourist's faces. Yep, you're in danger. In danger of staying here forever.

A favourite spot among the romantics, Alto Sky Lounge nestles comfortably on Level 22 where it accords guests a breathtaking 180 degree view of Melaka’s cityscape and coastline. It features a chic and upscale ambience with entertainment from a live band and a tempting selection of cocktails, fine wines and light bites. It is a favourite venue for business meetings, entertaining or just chilling out.

Malacca First Speakeasy Bar The Old Merchant, an oriental concept bar evolved from an ancient private bank established in 1920s.The bar serves variety of crafted cocktails, chilled beers, wines & Spirits.
Visited this bar after hearing so much about it from friends. After an exciting entry via a hidden doorway, initially was just planned for a short stay ended up being here for the whole night after numerous cocktails. Nice ambience & music.
