We did a one day tour from Axum to Wukro, stopping at the abuna yemata church.Haile was a great guide.he kept us informed about the region and the church.i must admit, scaling the rock wall with no safety equipment is not for everyone so make sure to get the full information before attempting this trip.we were supposed to do 3 churches but time simply ran out.so I recommend talking with Haile regarding time line for this excursion.i highly recommend taking this trip with sycamore Ethiopia tours. Haile was one.of the best guides we had in ethiopia.he was friendly and very informative.

ay at Monastory of Debre Libanos , Jemma River Gorge and visit of a local family: Lungo was an excellent guide and adapted the programm to what I like : meeting local people, choice of a local restaurant. very interesting day and excellent introduction to Ethiopian way of life. Then Lungo organized 2 full days at Lalibela . the site is inspiring and the programm put in place by Lungo was taking good advantage of the time : the churches, trip to the surrounding mountain by tuk tuk. Knowledgable guide there . I ended up my Ethiopian stay with a visit of Addis Abeba with Henos , an excellent guide. I really loved the visit of the Mercato to discover the local vibrant life , the visit of the national museum with Lucy and the Mukush art gallery (that was a wish I asked for and this was added to my day of visit before going to the airport. Organization was perfect and very flexible

In fact it’s so surreal that it doesn’t feel like part of planet earth at all . If you want Genuine, raw adventure few corners of the globe can Mach this overwhelming wilderness. But come prepared because with temperatures frequently saying hello to 50 Degrees and appalling roads visiting this region is more an expedition than a tour.

We were lucky in travelling at a time with few tourists but had a fantastic time. The company was well organised and very honest. We had good information on the trip and what was expected. Our driver/guide was the perfect balance between giving us interesting information but at the same time allowing us to explore and ask questiions that interested us. The visits to traditional tribes were senstively done and visits were playful and fun. While we were in Addis the company took good care of us. Gasaw was very professional and attentive to our needs. He took us to a very traditional coffee shop which we woud never have found on our own . The traditional dinner dancing and singing was truely memoral.

We met Arrè by chance in Aksum and this was really a huge luck! He organized our trip from Aksum to Debark and from there to Semien Mountains. The whole Trip was just amazing and very well organized. Arre stayed in touch to make sure we have great experience! Besides that we hat a great day trip in Aksum, where we talked a lot about Ethiopia with him and had a lot of fun!

expat in Addis , My family and I had a fantastic experience with EthioTours . Had a fantastic morning tour on lake Tana . Beautiful sunrise and a fantastic breakfast. The guide was really knowledgeable about all the animals we saw and explained about the fishermen and what they were doing. Saw plenty of hippos too! It was an amazing experience, we visited three beautiful islands . We would like to thank Melese for showing us all unique areas and sharing the stories . Private tour was absolute best way to relax and see the beauty of the lake. Highly recommended !

I highly recommend Finot. Haile can capably arrange the most popular tourist attractions and make suggestions for a 'deeper dive' into the country. Even more important, he is passionate about all aspects of Ethiopia--history, culture, wildlife, food.... and works to make sure customers have a great experience. I felt with Haile and driver Josep, i was in good hands at all times. Amazing country, keep an open mind, sense of adventure, sense of humour, and you will be rewarded.
7. South Omo and Denakil Depression 14 days
This is an extraordinary opportunity to immerse in the fabric of some of these societies, including the Mursi, Hamer and Karo tribes, each with their distinct culture. From Addis Ababa we drive to the Omo Valley region and enjoy a boat trip on Lake Chamo to spot hippos and an array of water birds. Yene of Horizon Ethiopia Tour Addis Abbaba organized a marvellous tour from Addis Abbaba to Southern Ethiopia. We chose the 4WD with driver/guide option. On every step of our journey we were met by a local guide who gave us a private tour. Our driver/guide Jira was very professional, efficient, punctual, very kind and displayed unwavering dedication. We discovered a country with a long history, a magical cultural heritage, varied wild- and plant-life, and spectacular scenery. The friendliness of the staff at the hotels is like no other. Their helpfulness outweighed the little worries of Wifi connection and limited supply of hot water. Breakfast and dinner were good with an attractive buffet offering a wide choice. Overall we were delighted with our stay in Ethiopia and hope to come back soon. Because it is quite difficult to visit Ethiopia without the help of a travel agency, we highly recommend asking Yene from Horizon Ethiopia Addis Abbaba to organize your travel in Ethiopia.
