You are in for a local experience - a day to explore the diversity of Tokyo, from high tech to tradition, the contrast of the futuristic aspect to old school life all on this private car service with your private licensed guide. I highly recommend the 5AM Ramen Tour to anyone who eats food. Not only were we treated to a dozen delicious bowls of mini ramen, but spending 3 hours with Frank, our fearless tour guide who took every precaution necessary and braved a pandemic to educate us about ramen, was quite possibly the most entertaining 3 hours I've had in the past 4 months. Full disclosure: I've known Frank since I was 3 years old. So, on our tour, I imagine Frank brought his A-Game. His deep expertise with regards to ramen was evident by well-thought out answers from the group's tough questions. Not only that, Frank deftly evaded heckling from the crowd (me) with humor and poise that made one feel ashamed for actually attempting to do so. A group of 9 of us scheduled the three-hour tour with stops in three different ramen stores in the Nakameguro, Ebisu and Shibuya area. Between the 9 of us, we have over 200 combined years of ramen eating experience, yet none of us have ever been to any of the 3 stores on the tour. Additionally, our minds were stimulated with fun facts about the history of ramen and prognosis of the trends of the Japanese noodle-soup in the post-pandemic future. Honestly, the price had been a slight deterrent in the past, but for a food tour, this was money well spent. The shop selection was excellent and surprisingly they were very flexible in accommodating to our requests. Each restaurant has a selection of four mini bowls, from which one person choses two. I highly recommend going with a partner so you can try all four from each store, which is why we tasted a dozen different bowls of ramen. At the last restaurant, we were given a special treat with a limited-time-only offer of 5 additional choices. Whether you are a local or visitor, Frank's 5AM Ramen Tour is a must-do regardless of whether we're in a pandemic or not.

Please feel free to ask what you do not know or want to know about Tokyo or Japan. It would be nice if you could get in touch with Japanese culture and become even more fond of Japan.

I have joined flower arrangement class seceral times in my country, but those classes were only about western style flower arrangement. Actually I didn’t know what was Ikebana before I took Hiromi’s class. I was able to learn how to do flower arrangement in Japanese traditional style through her class. It is totally different from western style. It was very special experience and I was able to feel and enjoy Japanese culture. And Hiromi is not only very professional, but also patient. So you don’t need to worry about her class, even if you were a totally beginner. One more important thing is.. since I have a little girl, so I joined her class with my 9 month old baby. But there was no problem and Hiromi was so helpful. I’m very thankful and I’d love to take her class again someday.

Allow your host to introduce you to the quirky underbelly of one of the world’s most wonderful and outlandish cities as you go to places like the Museum of Parasites (informative, and slightly crawly, we admit) or the crazy, committed cosplay districts like Akihabara. Head to a themed snake cafe where you can cuddle up to a slithery friend over coffee and if that's not for you there’s also hedgehog and owl cafes! Round off your time in Piss Alley which despite its misleading name, is actually a super eccentric alleyway home to many izakaya pubs! Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You'll also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.
Inclusions: Private & personalized itinerary, 4 hours in the city with a host, 2 beers, coffee or soft drinks, 3 tastings of unusual foods, Walking experience (if required, your host can suggest public transport or private taxi options), Hotel meet-up (available on request for central location)
Exclusions: Food & drinks (other than the ones included above), Cover charges to additional venues (other than the one included above), Transportation costs, Gratuities (optional)
Kento is most definitely the perfect guide for late night adventures around Shinjuku. Highly personable with an enquiring mind and a lot of fun , I’m sooooo glad I stumbled into one of his tours . If a traveller wants to get to know the Golden Gai area , this is most definitely your man . The meal before was wonderful and somewhere I would never have discovered by myself - and cheap as ! This is the real thing , with a brilliant guide .

We booked a food tour with Stephanie for our last night in Tokyo and it was one of the highlights of our wonderful Japan trip. The tour was a perfect mix of delicious snacks, fun sweet stuff and must-try drinks. Stephanie was an absolute gem - she made sure we were enjoying everything and took requests from the group for the types of foods we wanted to try. If you’re looking for a guide to local food scene, this tour is for you. Stephanie is also an absolute delight to spend an evening with - you won’t be disappointed!
