Medina (/məˈdiːnə/; Arabic: المدينة المنورة, al-Madīnah al-Munawwarah, "the radiant city"; or المدينة, al-Madīnah (Hejazi pronunciation: [almaˈdiːna]), "the city"), also transliterated as Madīnah, is a city in the Hejaz region of the Arabian Peninsula and administrative headquarters of the Al-Madinah Region of Saudi Arabia. At the city's heart is al-Masjid an-Nabawi ("the Prophet's Mosque"), which is the burial place of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and is the second-holiest city in Islam after Mecca.

One more the historically important mosque in the Islamic world. Masjid Al Qiblatayn is the oldest and beautiful mosque in Madinah, Mosque of the two Qibla's. After Prophet Mohammed had received the command to change the Qiblah, the direction had been changed from Al Aksa mosque to Holy Kaaba in Mecca. Must visit place and pray two rekat salla.

When Prophet Muhammad (Peace & Blessings be upon him) migrated from Makkah to Madinah , Quba is the place on the outskirts of Madinah where the Prophet (Peace & blessings be upon him), accompanied by Sayedina Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and first stayed and built the first Masjid of Islam. My first visit to this historical Masjid was in 1982.It was small but had its own reverence and awe.In my recent visit in February 2019,I found a new Masjid has been constructed which is much bigger than the original one and is reasonably impressive. An authentic Hadith states that who ever offers two rakahs of voluntary prayers in this Masjid, he gets a reward equal to one Umrah.I was lucky enough this time that I not only offered many voluntary prayers but got the privilege of offering Duhr in congelation. The Masjid was almost full including its court yard. The expansion is impressive but wash rooms are very substandard and very poorly maintained. They need to be upgraded and maintained properly. It also needs a proper eating place to be provided to enable pilgrims spend more time in this Historical Place.

Seeing this place is amazing. We talked to a taxi driver. Made a deal with him for half a day. In the deal, he would take us to few important places. Quran Printing Complex is one of the places. We planned to arrive by 10 am. We were told that they close early. Its a nicely organized shot trip. We were able to visit for a short period of time from 2nd floor (I can say gallery). At the end of the visit approximately 10 minutes, visitors were to out. On the way out, you can pick a free copy of the Quran. Important: They have the Quran in few language including Farsi, Urdu and Bengali etc. If you would rather like one of these, please ask them for your choice of language. These comes with Arabic with translation in of these language. They did not have it in English.

Historical sites in Medina, Masjid Al Ghamamah and Masjid Saidina Abu Bakar are located near to each other. Sometimes people confuse the two. To differentiate them, Masjid Al Ghamamah has many domes while Masjid Saidina Abu Bakar is much smaller and has only one dome. The area is located southwest of the Prophet's Mosque and a short walk away from the Holy Quran exhibition. The area surrounding the two masjids has been into a park with benches. Good for picnicking with family.
