I go here every year alone around Thanksgiving for gift ornaments for friends and family. ( i have no choice now...lol...they'd all be very disappointed not receiving one in their stockings or gift box) The hardest thing is choosing!!! They are honestly all so beautiful and so unique. Its very hard to pick so i stick to the subject matter of the person i'm buying for...(the hubs loves crosses....our daughter likes the animal ones...my mom loves birds..etc) there is truly something for everyone and everyone is so nice, and welcoming and its clearly one of my favorite spots to holiday shop. There are many many other gorgeous pieces available besides the ornaments, but ornaments are just my thing and i already spend so much time there choosing them that i stay with that tradition. I love that the artists' pictures and names are tag attached to each ornament, (and so do the people i give them to.) I love this place and Lord willingi cannot wait to go back this year!! P.S. my daughter in law is an accomplished artist and former art instructor at WSU. These ornaments are her Favorite ( and most anticipated) Christmas gift every year!! In fact I started choosing small ornaments and saving them for her birthday later in the new year to use as package ties!! She loves them!!

McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation offers many services to the public. The Museum houses a variety of artifacts: historical artifacts from the McPherson area; natural history artifacts such as meteorites, Ice Age fossils, and regional fossils; ethnic artifacts from China, Africa, and of Native Americans; and fine art, including an extensive collection of Birger Sandzen lithographs and original art pieces. In addition, there is information about the city and county namesake, General McPherson; about the first man-made diamond large enough to be visible, created in McPherson; items from the McPherson Globe Refiners basketball team, the first team ever to win an Olympic gold medal.
Who would ever think that they would see the original MGM lion, world's first synthetic diamond, or saber-tooth tiger in the middle of Kansas? There are too many artifacts to mention here, but this place is worth the cheap price of admission.

My husband and I attending the Jim Brickman concert here. The Opera House was old and charming! I loved it! The seats were comfortable, the concession stand had good popcorn, and though we didn't have any there was a small area serving alcoholic drinks. I would definitely see another program/concert/play here again.
