'It's a kind of co-working art studio made with minimum resources. But basically it's a pottery studio/workshop where you can learn and buy non glazed black pottery.'
How i stumbled upon this course was cuz i was looking for the best experiences around me and here i am posting another testimony. I enrolled for the five day course and i ended up extending it simply because the place and the course grows on you. Pottery like any art is so much about self expression. So it is imperative that the teachers encourage that which is the case here. All the teachers here; Sadaiv, Vivek, Manoj are patient with the process. They are there to clear your doubts and go out of the way to make sure creatively you learn what you set out for. Sadaiv is your go to person for handcraft because he makes it look so easy and effortless. Vivek sir is extremely encouraging. Working with clay is like therapy: it requires concentration, time, patience and all of those things and that means you have to be so fully present and yet you can be lost in the process of creation. A place is also so much about the people. The people here make sure you are comfortable because you end up spending long hours here so they are sweet enough to make tea/coffee and lunch. Also little details like warm water to wash off clay make the experience comfortable to say the least. If you are a local like me who just shifted base from a city, you have all the more reason to love it because of the chill vibe and people connect. There are great chances that every second person you bump into would be an artist/designer or creatively inclined. Also as a local you have greater liberty of spending time here. One of the most magical moments for me here was working with artistes playing live. A brilliant flautist playing while i worked on clay. I think you would take home a lot more than just the skill which is what makes the place incredibly special as also the fact that it has so much soul.
