The Korean Memorial was my favorite, but Tom did a great job with all of the monuments. Our friends had been on Tom's tour before but he added a different monument for them to see. His knowledge of everything concerning the monuments and the city made the tour special for all of us - two VA residents, one frequent visitor to DC and a newbie who had never visited DC before. We had such a great time we booked an additional tour with DC Military Tours & Tom.

On this evening walking tour you will stroll the historic streets of Georgetown and hear long ago tales of tragedy, romance and lore.  With its architecture, pedigree and ambiance, Georgetown is a lovely place to visit.  However, the houses, churches and cemeteries of this tony neighborhood are still haunted by their past.  Take a walk with me and find out why…

My passion for history and years of experience giving tours for hundreds of clients has allowed me to hone my ability to cut to the core of a place and give essential information to understand what happened there. I however, also give enough unique and personalized stories to allow clients to get a real feel for a location. I believe that a tactile experience, one when a person stands in a place where important and intense history was made, allows people to gain a greater understanding of a location. If someone is a completely new to a location and knows nothing about the history, I can give a strong introductory explanation which goes beyond just dates and names. Also, if someone has a deep understanding of the history, I can give facts and details that will add to that understanding. These tours will appeal to all levels of interest. At FFC Historical Tours, we strive to give clients an enjoyable informative tour. We hope to have the honor of your business.

This tour is a MUST for everyone!!!!! The battle of Monocacy is one of those Civil War battles that is often looked over, but probably had bigger implications than most people realize. It slowed down the Confederate army from reaching the Union capital, D.C. Anyone interested in history or who wants to learn something cool should take this tour. I've been on a ton of tours in my life time, and I can say that Fred Campbell is, without a doubt, the best story teller out there! The sights on this tour are absolutely beautiful.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 3 hour tour of Antietam. Fred had lots of great stories to help us visualize this big day in our history. I have very little knowledge compared to my husband who enjoys reading & visiting many battle fields. Fred made this a great learning experience for both of us!! I highly recommend this tour for any novice or person with great knowledge & interest in the civil war.

I’m Don Burgess, a Frederick resident interested in sharing my passion for heritage tourism and historic preservation as they contribute to preserving and creating a city’s “Sense of Place.” I’ve been a history buff of this region for years, and my role on Facebook as Frederick Tour enables me to combine my love of things old with my skills with things new. I’m a semi-professional photographer who has photographed, shown, and sold images of Frederick, Harpers Ferry, and other regions. See more details about tour in itinerary below and at fredericktour.org We can give tours year round. If it is raining/snowing (light) and you still want to take the tour, we can do that. If it is raining/snowing (hard), we can do a virtual "tour" indoors (groups of 8 or less). Upon request, we can offer theme tours such as churches, architecture, or Civil War, or even photo shoots.
