July 7, 2021 Etsuko Causey

Maryland is known as “America in Miniature” because of its great variations in topography and culture. This makes it a perfect east coat travel destination for those who would like to experience a little bit of everything. From amusement parks, to beaches, to mountains and historical sites, there is plenty to see and do. Each region of Maryland provides its own unique and fun activities to do. If you're headed for some fun in the sun in Ocean City on its eastern coast, be sure not to miss the Ocean City Beach, the Boardwalk, or Trimper's Rides and Amusement Park for an all-ages fun experience. Central Maryland is home to a Six Flags theme park, the Annapolis Golf Club, and countless hubs of art and culture such as the African Art Museum and Annapolis Opera, Inc. Heading to western Maryland? It is perfect for lovers of nature and the outdoors, with the Washington Monument State Park, Wisp Resort ski slopes, and the spectacular Muddy Creek Falls.

Orchid Cellar Meadery and Winery

Maryland's one of a kind meadery and winery bringing the world's oldest alcohol into the 21st century. Specializing in complex meads as well as unique red and white wines. Locally crafted, Internationally awarded // Middletown, MD. Our tasting room sits amongst 15 acres of land, 2 acres of grapevines, and a handful of beehives. Don't worry, the beehives are tucked away for safety. We welcome mead fanatics, wine lovers, and beer snobs to sample libations and engage us with their questions and thoughts. Picnics with outside food is always welcome, but outside alcohol is against the rules. Our vineyard lab, Carmen, loves making new friends, so feel free to bring your friendly pup. All ages are welcome, but visitors must be 21+ to drink. Cheers!

And do not pass up an opportunity to try the mead varieties "spiced up" with exotic hot peppers. If the place is not busy during your visit, you might even request a tour of their operations. Visit their website for extensive coverage of all their varieties of mead and wine. In fact, it is probably the best site we've visited on the web for beautiful presentation and scope of information. They obviously love what they do! And you will too.

Robin Hill Farm & Vineyards

Robin Hill Farm & Vineyards is a beautiful place to visit, sip wine, and host your event. You’ll be treated to lovely views of the rustic red barns, rolling hills, grazing farm animals and our farm winery & tasting room where we offer estate grown wines. Family owned and operated since 1955, we are located in scenic Southern Prince George’s County, only 25 minutes away from the nation’s capital of Washington, D.C, and about an hour south of downtown Baltimore. Our little town remains fairly rural and the country side drive to get to us can be a viewing pleasure at any time of year. We invite you to come on down for a visit, sip some wine, and relax on the porch overlooking the vineyard or in our cozy barn tasting room. We hope to see you soon. Cheers! ~The Robin Hill Farm and Vineyards Family

My husband and I returned to where we were married to spend the Saturday after Valentines Day together. Robin Hill provided a great, fun atmosphere with live music inside their tasting room. Great way to spend an early afternoon, or anytime of day, with loved ones!
