Martina Franca, or only Martina, is a town and municipality in the province of Taranto, Apulia, southern Italy. It is the second most populated town of the province after Taranto, and has a population (2016) of 49,086. Since 1975, the town has hosted the annual summer opera festival, the Festival della Valle d'Itria.

The experience "Cheese factory tour with Apulian delicacies tasting" is hosted in an ancient farm built in the 1800s and surrounded by a regional nature reserve. In this natural oasis located in Valle d’Itria, in the very heart of Puglia, you will learn how high quality local products are grown and processed: the farm is in fact specialised in the production of fresh and seasoned cheese, of local cold cuts such as the renowned Capocollo from Martina Franca and in the wheat cultivation. You will have the opportunity to visit a cheese factory during working hours to watch the entire production process of milk products. The tour ends with a rich tasting of cheese and cold cuts produced in the farm and served with bakery products and Apulian wine: local delicacies that you can taste in a dedicated inner room or outside, if it is warm. You will be surrounded by a rural atmosphere that only in Puglia is to be found.

Better condition ruins, smaller, more accessible, great glimpse into the lives of the rich and famous ancient Roman's. Poppaea was Nero's wife. Ruins are about 90% wheelchair accessible.
Martina Franca is the baroque city of the Itria Valley and through the Porta di S. Stefano, we will go for a walk in the historic center where I will show you some baroque palaces like the Ducal Palace. We will visit the Ducal Palace and the Church of S. Martino with its majestic facade. We will also go to one of the historic butchers where you can get to know and finally taste the Capocollo Martinese, a Slow Food Presidium, or a cold cut made from the prized part of the pig. Get ready to discover the typical history and gastronomy of Martina!

Martina Franca is a lovely town rich in art and culture, immersed in the beautiful Itria Valley, halfway between the Adriatic Coast and the Ionian Sea. It has an elegant old town centre embellished with many Baroque and Rococo noble palaces and monuments.

The tour takes place in the wonderful paths of the Itria Valley between Locorotondo Alberobello and Martina Franca, we will visit wonderful places surrounded by the ancient trulli of the Itria valley, having the pleasure of riding professional bicycles with pedal assistance. We will start from Martina Franca and through ancient roads very suggestive we will arrive in Locorotondo where we will visit its famous historical center and take pictures together, our tour will continue to make a stop at the famous Alberobello through hidden and non-trafficked paths. In Alberobello we will take a break of 30 minutes, we will have a coffee and We will visit the famous church of Sant'Antonio and the Monte district. After the visit of Alberobello we will head to an ancient Apulian farmhouse located in Locorotondo where the final lunch is scheduled.

Highly recommend Martino’s cycling tour. Fabulous and unique experience riding through some beautiful countryside. Martino had good local knowledge of the region. Very friendly and kind.The E-bikes were excellent- easy to ride and suit all levels of cycling experience. We had a few short rides in traffic, but my husband and I felt completely safe following Martino’s directions. Thanks for a fabulous cycling experience.
