Back to Basics Adventures is a boutique dive centre located in central Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique. We found that the essence of our operation is the people. The people that own it, the people that work here, and most importantly the people that visit us, because Back to Basics Adventures realises that it is the people that make the dive a memorable experience, not the amount of dives you can fit into a day. It is a community, not a business, where each customer is known by their name and listened to. We got over 50 different reefs to choose from, with both excellent macro and wide angle opportunities. Ponta do Ouro is internationally known for our resident bull sharks and extremely good macro sites. Since our own passion is the ocean we specialising in underwater photography and smaller groups/families wanting to experience the ocean together. Our goal is to give our clients an experience they can bring with them and share with others. Since 2017 we are offering various naturalist course and interesting marine talks with known wildlife authors. The Ocean Matters and we believe in Education through Passion. / Jenny and Rupert

Also known in town as the lemon-squeezer, this church is a landmark not to be missed when visiting Maputo. Its shape is particular and recognizable among all. The contrast of its materials: rough concrete and delicate stain steel is to be mentioned. Its games of light created by the disposition of the stain glasses inside is adding to the particularities of the place. The church is open to the public for visits but also for worshipping.

Old but well managed building. Train station terminal at downtown Maputo, in front of the lady statue from the colonial era. Busy place. Difficult to get parking. Closer to the harbour and Fortaleza De Maputo. Also advisible to visit ... historical monuments ...

Small but excellent art museum featuring well-mounted paintings and large sculptures by Mozambican artists. Each work is labelled with name of artist, title (in Portuguese, but usually understandable), when born, and when the piece was created. Two floors.

Down town Maputo. Busy place. If you are looking local market with fresh food and goods, you are at the right place. Please be careful with any value objects in the car and wallet/ purse. It is a good great place to shop. ..
