Soroble Centre

Reviewed By moniteg - Segou, Mali

Fascinating to learn about the dyeing and decorating of cotton fabric with natural dyes, made from leaves and tree bark, with a finishing touch with mud of the River Niger. The workshop is well-worth a visit. One of the craftsmen will show you around, explain about bogolan, and you can create your own small piece of art. And if you wish to support the local economy and bring home some great local crafts, then this is the place to go. By buying you not only support the craftsmen, but also Fanga School, which was founded by Souleymane Coulibaly, the owner of Centre Soroblé.
